Since the 1940's, this place has been famous for its green chili cheeseburger, and they are not to be missed if you are in the area. According to the history, the folks working on the first atomic bomb at nearby White Sands started dining here...More

I love the Owl. I ate there when I was in college in the late 60's and still eat there every time I am in Socorro for a family visit. The burgers here haven't changed over the years. They are a very flat and very...More

There aren't many places to find "real" homemade hamburgers. Irregular shaped, so it doesn't quite fit the bun. I just had a regular burger, my husband had the green chili burger and licked his fingers. Hand-cut homemade French fries as well. Full bar. Quick service.

That's right the green chili cheeseburgers are as good as they say even at 9AM in the morning. They were the best so far and fresh tasting as I could have imagined.

Had the world famous green Chile burger. Nice hand spanked patty full if flavor. My husband was last here 33 years ago and says nothing has changed. Friendly hole in the wall place.

Obviously we had to stop in here due to its extensive history and the fact it is mentioned in many New Mexico articles. The burger was good and came out very quickly. Its typical bar decor, but was comfortable.

Clearly a place where the locals hang. We were fortunate to be there on a night when the owners were in and talkative. Such a treat to listen to them tell stories of the Owl. Those who follow history will enjoy the Owl Bar that...More

As a native New Mexican, I'd say chile is my favorite thing to eat. We moved away 20 years ago but coming home for a visit with family in tow I was not going to miss the Owl bar. Fantastic food - my favorite is...More

The Owl has been around for decades and will likely survive me. It's the kind of place that just seems to keep going despite the economy. My father told me about the Owl at least 30 years ago and said I had to go at...More
