We went for a casual Valentine's Day meal and were totally surprised. The beer choices were excellent and the bar totally stocked. The entrees were very good, NY strip steak -med rare - just right and the prime rib steak was sensational. Even better were the appetizers - oysters grilled to perfection and blackened shrimp, but best of all was... More

Great atmosphere. We ate the fish and chips but 2 out of 4 of us had to send it back for lack of fish (it was corrected). Had a Ballast Point porter ($8), a little pricey i would say, but very good. Service was excellent and so was our waitress. I would certainly go back, but nothing to write home... More

Great funky place with super nice staff. Make sure you get green chili burger and the hatch chili tempura appetizer. Both are fantastic.

Enjoy the brisket here, as well as the elaborate drinks. The service is fairly and you'll like the music at dinner time.

Lunch at the Mine Shaft was the perfect recipe for the winter blues and a day off from work. Great burgers and service. Our server Shelby was friendly and informative. And as always- Madrid and neighboring Cerrillos were a wonderful day-trip adventure!!!

Awesome atmosphere and service by Shelby was great. She has relatives in town so can give some good advice. If you're heading south on the I-25 from Santa Fe... don't! Get onto the 14 and get to Madrid and walk the Main Street.

We stopped in for a bite after our horse ride. The staff is extremely friendly and the environment is local and funky. We had the pork nachos and deep fried peppers...yum. Friendly and fun...just what you'd expect from a local watering hole.

We had lunch here during the week between Christmas and New Year and they were slammed. Yet, the food was great and the service, while a bit slow, was attentive and they kept us up to date on our orders...how many places even bother. It is a fun atmosphere and the food was top notch.

Although we had eaten a large breakfast in Albuquerque, we did not want to miss seeing The Mine Shaft Tavern AND eating there. We could have listened to live music on their "deck" but were afraid we would be cold so we chose the main dining area. What a great atmosphere -- we loved the long bar, the stage at... More

OK, we admit it...we are fans of the Hatch Sparky's Green Chile Cheeseburger, and rarely try another place. But, over Christmas, we were heading from Santa Fe down to Albuquerque, and the Mine Shaft was highly recommended. We were not disappointed--I myself found the fried Hatch chile on the burger delightful! But the burger itself was, sad to say, not... More
