Can’t believe there hasn’t been any reviews for this place recently. I know COVID has been a factor, so here goes. We are diving with Matahari and after a full days diving we were too tired to go elsewhere so ate at our restaurant. Along...with the many Indonesian dishes there are a large selection of Thai food. We ordered 2 Thai dishes, both were really tasty - pad ka prao (mince pork with basil leaves and chili) and gai pad prick gaeng (chicken with red curry, long bean and eggplant) - apparently the chef is Thai. Definitely recommend the Thai, so will try Indonesian next 😋 An added bonus of eating here is the wonderful view out over the ocean and in the opposite direction Mount Agung The breakfast fried noodles and rice dishes are also very tasty.More

We ate here one night in four, but chose not to return. It was good food and a nice location but found somewhere else that we would return to. The Chicken Cordon Bleu was great, but other's we were with with were not overwhelmed with...their meal.More

The place is beach front and they have 2 floor, we eat at the second floor and it have a great view of the beach and sea on one side and the Mt. Agung on the other side, really beautiful. The menu provide lots of...option from western to asian and fews thai food. We eat crispy pork that bit hard to chew, but the mix stir fry vegetable is good. The beer also have a bargain price and they have lots fresh fruits for juice option. But this place also mostly crowded from guest of the resort or people at their diving center. This can be one of option for you to eat and drink if you stay around tulamben.More

The staff at Tulamben Dive Resort are helpful and very polite and always ready with a smile. The food is delicious and well presented. We ate like like kings and we can't wait to go back next year.

Must admit that the view is great, and that's why I came here... But food was just average. I had grill mahi mahi which is very dry and hard. The worse part was that it still has scales on it... So was not nice to...chew that. Service was on a poor side. Would only come back for the atmosphere only.More

Service is not something this restaurant does. We were standing around trying to find out where to have breakfast as all tables were full. The staff were chatting in the kitchen. The other diners told us to go upstairs as there were tables there and...eventually they turned up with a dirty tattered menu. We both ordered the pancakes but the was a sickly sauce on them that made them inedible. Location is good but the management and quality really let's this place down.More

We stopped here for a snack on our first day in Tulamben and had a table next to the ocean as the sun went down. The spring rolls were unlike any spring roll I’d ever had before- the wrap was coated with egg and the...plate was covered in their homemade special sweet sauce (fresh fresh fresh). My description doesn’t do it justice- it was sooo good. We ordered spring rolls at ever meal after this and nothing even came close. They definitely put their own spin on it, and of all the food I had in Tulamben, those spring rolls stand out the most. Delicious!!!More

Have been coming here for the last three years. This year the menu has been updated with some great new Thai dishes. Food was always fresh and delicious and served by lovely smiling staff. Had just about every meal here during our 11 day stay.

My wife & I are here numerous times during our Tulamben stay. Great location- listening/seeing the waves crash against the shoreline. Good staff- Fantastic food at a reasonable price. Recommend the Indonesian chicken soup & shrimp Pad Thai.

Matahari restaurant is a great local family restaurant , good quality fresh local produce especially local fish Tuna or Mahi Mahi never fails always the same fresh fish at its best also very affordable prices, traditional meals are great.very clean , good friendly service. Varied menu that includes local , Thai and Western food . Friendly staff who are always polite and greet you with a smile . Quality of the food is good and an awesome view as an added bonus . Would recommend .

This restaurant overlooks the beach and you can hear the sounds of the sea while you discover and enjoy an assorted selection of south/east asian cuisine although they also serve occidental dishes if that's your taste -italian pasta with sea fruits being one of its...tops... Besides that, the friendliness of the people working there is remarkable!More
