Lovely evening dinner

We visited Chops and Hops during our stay in Tulamben for dinner and we were pleasantly surprised with the portions of the food ordered. Food was very well cooked and tasty as well. We ordered a Chicken cordon blue and a grilled pork dish. Served with your choice of the sided which includes fries, baked potato or rice. We also ordered a soup of the day which I wouldn't have ordered had I known the size of the dishes :) all in all, a great place to have dinner . In the end, they served us amazing ginger chocolate cakes which were delicious (complimentary)

Great food and quick service

We ate here on our first night in Tulamben. The food was great and the service was fast (it was quiet). My husband had the Mahi Mahi and baked potatoes, he was won over and loved it. I had the chicken Cordon Bleu, which was lovely, although more cheese would have been good. Good sized servings. Prices are very reasonable. I would recommend.

The best Snitzel in Bali

The best Snitzel in Bali Crazy this place serve you big portion, so big it make me question how they make money from this huge portion. The food was exceptional, i would drive all the way to tulamben just for the food. I came with my family and my mom. My mom recomend this place and now i know why... Friendly owner / cheff greet us just after the food come out. I defenetly will go back here

most expensive mie goreng

This was the most expensive Mie goreng I had in Indonesia. Rp.60000 even without chicken, just one egg and a little bit carrots. And they actually made it with instant noodles. I have stayed in Bali for 6 months, never seen a restaurant sell such bad quality food with this high price. Don't recommend it at all.

Expensive and bad quality food

I don't understand why this restaurant got those good reviews. We came because of the high rank. Unfortunately the food was very disappointing and expensive. The cheapest dish is Nasi goreng or mie goreng with is Rp. 60,000 with only an egg. With chicken you need to pay another Rp. 20,000. I don't see what makes their nasi goreng so special and expensive. Normally it's Rp. 20,000 ~40,000. There must be something wrong with the price rank of ₤. The food doesn't worth the money at all.

Look no further!!

This became our go to restaurant in Tulamben. We tried a few places but Chop & Hops never failed for lunch and dinner. Wonderful friendly staff. Who even looked after us when we arrived 15min after the kitchen had closed. The meals are large and the beer is cold. They have Prost on tap and you can finish off your meal with homemade ice cream - win win win. 5 stars well earned / thanks for your efforts

Bring Your Appetite.

Apparently the best place around to chow down on a great steak, according to our Divemaster Tito. The serving portions are HUGE, so bring your appetite. I wish I had had a chance to try the goulash... so I guess I will have to return hehe. My partner and I dined here for dinner after a long day of diving. The atmosphere is welcoming and lively. The menu is large with selections and the prices are budget-friendly. We both had the Tenderloin steaks which my husband, a real meat and potatoes man, loved. I struggled with the large portion sizes, but if you've got a fridge in your room, they are perfect for leftovers. We met a few lovely fellow divers during the evening, which is always nice. The restaurant is a lovely place to kick back and have a few beverages after dinner. The staff are friendly and their service was prompt.

Reliably really good food for any meal.

We actually had many meals here, breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dessert and dinner. The breakfast menu that is included in the price of your room is somewhat limited but very good. The lunch and dinner menu is the same. We tried everything from a hamburger (gigantic and quite tasty), breaded chicken cordon blue (delicious) as well as numerous indonesian and western meals. We really enjoyed most of them and there were a few that we did not order again. The desserts varied daily and were tasty as well.

Great Western meal, plenty of food

My friend and I had been in Indonesia for 2 weeks and had tried he menu at our hotel, so we deceived to look for something. The temptation of a Western meal was a big draw for us. We arrived and the tables were full, so we shared a table with a very pleasant Irish couple that gave us suggestions. We ordered an appetizer, IRC’s Fav and the schnitzel thinking of small plates served at previous restaurants. We were lucky that the staff forgot the appetizer since the meals were HUGE. The salad to start was very fresh and a reasonable size. The Ric’s Fav is an enhanced cordon blue and was massive, the taste was an incredible combination that the Gorgonzola really enhanced, but didn’t over power the dish. It was fried perfectly and on an egg wash and bread crumbs, so not overpowering. The meat was moist and not greasy even though it was fried. The chicken was probably 6-7 inches long and 4 inches wide and almost an inch thick, so a massive piece of meat. The schnitzel was 2 pieces of pounded veal with both perfectly cooked and only a bread crumb breading and moist meat. There were 2 pieces of meat with both being 5-6 inches long and 3-4 inches wide and maybe 1/2 inch thick, so healthy pieces of meat and way more than I could eat. I ordered a baked potato as my side and it came with 2 smaller potatoes with a yogurt, garlic and onion sauce that was very tasty. For desert we chose the chocolate cake with a scoop of ice cream that was one of the better chocolate cake I have had. It was very light with no icing. So it was a very good combination and a substantial piece of cake. We had a couple of cocktails that were well made without skimping on the alcohol. The total at the end of the night was a little over 600,000 with sounds like a lot, but only about $40 US. If you are hungry while in Tulanben area I would definitely recommend Chops and Hops without reservation. As a follow up we returned for our last evening and shared a single Ric’s Fav and the desert for a more reasonable amount of food and still didn’t finish all of it with 2 people.

Quantity over quality? NO THANK YOU. If you are looking to gain some weight with badly cooked fried and oily unhealthy food this is your place. Prices are much higher then surrounding restaurants but portions are double. Greediness seem to feed a lot of good reviews and keeps the restaurant pretty busy though...so i assume they think they are doing a great job...

Best meat ever...

Hi.. I have been here 3 times already and will come back soon.. The Undertaker is the dish you don't want to miss... Big enough to share it is best to finish with a Salted Caramel home made Ice cream... PERFECTION!!!

Schnitzel and Steak

I go there every week and eat an delicious Schnitzel or steak. Ok we Austrians always eat Schnitzel and this is the best place for it. Portions are huge and the chef is a very friendly and entertaining. You can meet me there again in the next week. Recommended: Steak, Schnitzel, Pasta with Steak and beer

Great small restaurant: excellent staff, cold drinks & delicious food for a reasonable price. Hubby had Mie Goreng & I had Chicken Schitzel & both were excellent. The eggnog dessert was too strong for my liking, but that’s just personal taste.

STAYING WITH The Ocean Sun Resort I have breakfast here every morning and dinner some days. Very good food, German Style as well as Balinese. Very friendly staff. You can come by for dinner with 8 as well as just having a coke alone, you are equally welcome. The homemade ice cream and cakes are great too.

Great Food and Place

One of the best restaurants and bar in Tulamben. Food portion is big and price is good. We ordered steak and pork schnitzel (very good). It is highly recommended if you stay inTulamben. You need turn to small alley from the main road and find their sign (not far from the main road). Definately will come back to this place
