Although we were staying in Jimbaran, some 14 Km or nearly 45 minutes away, seeing some good reviews in the TA we decided to give this restaurant a try. We booked our table for two after checking they cater for pure vegetarians like us. On arrival we were greeted by a pleasant waitress who showed us to our table. There were seats inside and outside totalling about 40. At the time we went there were a number of people already enjoying a meal and a few at a well appointed bar area. Once again we were assured that all vegetarian items, including fried items, were separately prepared. This gave us immense re-assurance. The busy and neat kitchen activities can be seen through large glass panels. A well designed thandoor oven can also be seen through the glass. We ordered Onion bhajis, dosas, salter buttermilk and almond pastry for dessert. Onion bhajis were prepared and presented well and tasted great. Dosas were also done well as you would get in South India. However, I felt the sambar didn't taste as it should. I found rest of the diners were also enjoying their food. There were several vegetarian items to choose from the menu. Staff were attentive. There was a person, either a manager or owner, keeping a watchful eye and interacting with some customers. There are two clean toilets in one corner of the room. In conclusion I can say without any hesitation this is a well managed Indian Restaurant in Bali trying its best to provide variety of authentic Indian food. I will have no hesitation to go there again if I visit Bali next. Best wishes to the owners and staff.

Tried this restaurant after being disappointed by other Indian joints and were pleasantly surprised by the quality of food.
Its the best in Bali with an amazing ambience and service
Host Viraj is the Chef Himself and looks after QC.
The Nans were fresh off the tandoor and the Paneer is Home Made.
The Dal Makhani was amazing so will be eating here every night while in Bali
The Menu is quite Large and the Food is reasonably priced -Good Value for Money.

Holy Flavour and spice!
My partner and I came across this little restaurant when we were looking for somewhere to go for lunch.
This place is definitely a hidden gem. We shared the butter chicken and a lamb curry with naan bread and coconut rice. The food was nothing short of amazing. We love spicy food so it was right up our alley (you can choose whether you want it spicy or not)
Would definitely eat here again. It’s definitely better than the Indian food back in Aus!

We had lunch twice. The food is full of flavour and amazing. The service and hygiene protocol cannot be faulted. I was super impressed by the fact that the restaurant donated food to those in need whilst we were dining by packing up food parcels. Thank you Chai’ba, it’s amazing and encouraging to see a business care for the community as well as having awesome service and delicious food. Best Indian food in Bali

im of indian ethnicity and dont usually eat indian when travelling. mums cooking is always best but once i tasted chai bas food for the first time i was sold. had dosa for lunch and albeit i never go same restaurant on same trip i was sold. i came back for dinner had lassi and butter chicken n garlic naan. was unbelievably good. tried malai kofta chappati naan n punjabi chicken few days later just to assess if they are consistent and boy did they not dissapoint. forget best in seminyak or bali or even indonesia this is probably best all round indian food ive had anywhere including my hometown mumbai. service impeccable, resonably priced and generous portion. i come to bali monthly for work n stay for la favela n potato head but ive got one more thing to look forward to..keep up the great work. nothing to improve cause chai ba is bordering on perfection. owner is very attentive n cordial n has lovely history to share on his journey

This restaurant is awesome! The choice of curries is excellent and prices are reasonable. The flavour, quantity & quality of the dishes we had were incredible, worth saying the meat was really tender. The layout of the restaurant is good - it was really interesting to see into the kitchen and watch the chefs in action - awesome! The staff were really friendly, attentive and very helpful. If you are in Seminyak and love curry, go to this restaurant - you won't be disappointed!

Food here was really nice, particularly enjoyed the butter naan breads. The curries were really tasty. Portion sizes were huge and we were offered a doggy bag to take home the leftovers!
Service was good although slow at times, we needed to catch a waitress as they walked past each time we wanted to order.

Visited this restaurant 4 times during our Bali holiday and never left disappointed.
This is the best Indian cuisine my wife and I have had since leaving London almost 20 years ago.
The service is very attentive and Ee cannot fault any of the dishes we sampled.
This is a must for any Indian food lover visiting Bali.

There are 3 more Indian restaurants on the same street and 'Chai'ba' is the best of them all. The food is very good & the interior is superb. The staff are very polite & courteous to help you with your order. We went here twice to have dinner & we tasted different dishes both the times. We were deeply satisfied with the taste, quantity & quality of the food. This is really a must visit place for Indian food.

We just moved to Bali from Jakarta and was craving some Indian food. We knew there are at least 2 Indian restaurant that is also available in Jakarta but we wanted to try something new.
And we’re glad that we found Chaiba.
It’s honestly the best Indian food i’ve tried so far. Everything was so good that we came back again the next day and invited friends to join. They all agreed that the food is sooo good and we will definitely come back anytime we crave for Indian food.

Probably the best Lamb Rohan Josh that I have ever had as the meat just melted in the month and was beautifully cooked. The ambiance is really good and you can watch the chefs cooking the food in front of your eyes. I don’t think you can book but they saved a table as we visited twice within 5 days it was so good

One of our favourite restaurants in Bali. The menu selection is full of variety and caters to all taste buds. We have tried so many different dishes and could not fault one. The spices are perfectly balanced in every dish. There is also a huge selection for gluten free meals. An amazing culinary experience. Kudos to the chef

Ate dinner at Chai Ba and was in gf heaven at this amazing Indian eatery. There are SO MANY gluten free options on the menu - and many of them are things that I’ve never seen made gf. The lemon pepper fried chicken and fried onion appetizers were crazy-good. They do Dosa all day and it didn’t disappoint. We got some veggies in the quinoa and paneer salad. The espresso martini went down very easy. This place is almost worth the 30 hours of travel it would take for me to visit every week. ;)

This is indeed a fantastic restaurant. Very tastefully done atmosphere inside, comfortable/cozy vibe when we visited on Fri afternoon for lunch with family. The food was lip smacking good, really felt some dishes were the best Indian food we have ever eaten. We ordered Malai chicken Tikka (super), tandoori fried chicken wings, butter chicken and paneer Tikka masala with butter/garlic naans. All great. Finished with a masala chai (tea). Highly recommended for anyone in Seminyak or even across Bali - wish the team here all the best!

The food was good and authentic Indian. the restaurant has good potential but has a number of areas of improvement.
They get really busy (more on this below), but won’t take reservations. So you have to queue for as long as it takes and the queue does build up.
Part of the reason the queue builds up is that the service is chaotic, which results in each table taking longer to wrap up than needed. not sure why it was so chaotic - they seemed to have enough staff and the folks working there seemed to be trying hard.
Lastly, water and white wine were not well chilled - only f&b in bali that we went to that did not have drinks properly chilled
