It was an exciting and varied menu with a very authentic African touch. Would highly recommend for a new take on African game food.

We visited Koornlands on the recommendation of our hosts and proved to be a wonderful choice. The service was excellent, friendly staff and lovely atmosphere. The food was delicious and we would certainly recommend it to other visitors as must.

Chosen from Tripadvisor, 4 of us went for dinner at Koornlands this evening and loved it! Very much a South African meat eater menu. Each of us had a different dish and raved about the quality of ingredients, preparation and presentation. Service level most professional. A wonderful dining experience totally unexpected. There are not many really good restaurants along the... More

Chose this restaurant after reading good reviews on trip advisor. It was one of our best meals we had in SA and we'd had some good ones. Good food , good wines , nice staff , reasonable prices , you can't expect anything more .

Seemingly among the best tables in that town. The ambiance is perfect, service nice, good choice of wines. The crocodile carpaccio was perfect, however the ostrich fillets served were not fillets. Tenderness is something else. However the patrons make sure you're satisfied.

What a great experience - fusion food with a strong South African theme. My smoked cocodile with its variety of Japanese flavours, followed by ostrich with a mid-eastern twist were excellent. Sadly, they left no room for dessert ... I'll have to go back! The remarkable food combined with excellent service made my dinner on the 'stoep' truly memorable.

Had a really good meal here. Tried ostrich for the first time and found it beautifully tender. Very friendly staff and a pleasant atmosphere. Very nice eating on the veranda.

Yet again we have a restaurant owned, managed and run by passionate food lovers. The service is warm and friendly, the prices very reasonably. Try the lamb, slow cooked for 8 hours. Absolutely sublime.

We were only in Swellendam for one night en route to Knysna and happened to select Koornlands, quite randomly, for dinner. This place is really unassuming, pretty outdoor seating but the food is absolutely fantastic. Interesting meats paired with really innovative flavours, all presented in a fine dining fashion on black slate plates. The food was very delicious- we had... More

Koornlands Restaurant is the longest serving restaurant in Swellendam, established in 1994. We pride ourselves as being amongst the finest. Warm, friendly and always professional. Our menu often changes due to the seasons and availability. A menu gegustation with wine pairing is available for table participation. Our venison is legend and so is our comprehensive wine cellar. Dine alfresco on the veranda or the garden. We care about vegetarian and vegan preferences.

Reservations are highly recommended, due to limited seating.
