Met relatives of my daughter in law, lucky to get a table very busy, always hour wait, but absolutely worth the wait, food, wine very good, and reasonable price wise, very friendly and helpful staff, would definitely recommend.

OK - I am biased. I have been coming to the Chapmans Peak Hotel for 10 years now, never to stay, but always as a lunch stop for Calamari. Not much changes - except this time a new paint job and better awning. The restaurant is situated on the terrace of the hotel with wonderful views across Hout Bay at... More

I have always loved the food at The Chapmans Peak Hotel Restaurant and we decided to return there for a treat. The kind of restaurant where you remember how good the food was. This time it was very disappointing. We were seated fairly quickly but they took more than half an hour to ask what we wanted to drink and... More

Had lunch past Saturday. Ordered Fried Calamari which was soggy and tasteless, had to requested chili sauce to give the dish flavour. My companion ordered the Grilled Kingclip and that was fair too. We requested a bread basket which never arrived! It appears to be a popular place as all tables were full, Service so-so. I think I will give... More

Stayed two nights and loved it. Our room was spotless and the King-sized bed very comfortable. The fittings, finishings and furniture are of a high standard. The complimrntary toiletaries and refreshments are good quality and plentiful. The seafood and steak were delicious. Breakfast is made to order cooked or Continental Buffet. Secure off-steeet parking. Small swimming pool a good alternative... More

While the Chapmans Peak Hotel Restuarant I am sure can be visited without having to stay at the hotel my experience of the restuarant was always on a business point of view whereby I stayed at the hotel and had breakfast in the restuarant in the morinings. I was at the hotel for week so at breakfast at the restuarant... More

Chapmans peak hotel restaurant has consistently impressed me over the years with the quality of their food, the calamari is for sure the best in Cape Town and I have yet to taste better anywhere and their calamair and portuguese steak pan combo is also fantastic! If you get there early enough and have a table overlooking the beach and... More

We loved our experience, overall very good food. My constructive criticism is: Beer not cold enough, red wine not chilled, sardines slightly overcooked and no oysters were available. My positives are that the food is fresh, the calamari is exquisite. Simplicity in cooking seafood is often the answer!! Well done. Nice location with friendly service. Would be nice to have... More

We had lunch in this restaurant and ordered linefish, which was good. But only rice and no vegetables. The price was a little bit too high compared to other fish-restaurants.But we are not happy withe wine list. The white wines are starting with nearly 190 Rand, where you pay 120-130 Rand in other restaurant. We ordered a bittle 2Dogs(we never heard this brand) and... Lovely view, lovely food and great atmosphere. This restaurant is always full and our food comes out very quickly. The staff are great and our waitress was excellent. Young Afrikaans girl who wore bright lipstick and was very attentive and enthusiastic about her job. Will definitely be back!

Description
The restaurant is a local institution, renowned worldwide for the best Calamari in Cape Town, with a popular sun-drenched terrace overlooking the bay and mountains. Calamari at the Chapmans Peak was voted as "one of top 20 things to do in Cape Town".It’s the ideal location for those lingering sunsets and balmy evenings. A sun-drenched verandah boasting spectacular views of the bay offers an alternative eating venue for those wishing to dine Al fresco. And in those winter months, it’s one of few places in the Cape with fireplaces (dating back 100yrs)
