This restaurant exceeding my expectations. The view, the emphasis on great service and the amazing food all made for an amazing dining experience. A special mention for Cedric who helped make a truly special evening.

As everyone has said: the view is a show stopper. The staff here are excellent: table provided outside for sunset bubbly which arrived instantly. Then upstairs for the window table. Perfect. Food quality was outstanding. We had springbok and oysters which were sublime. Their own...More

Best restaurant we have been to in the western cape. Watched the sun go down on the Franschhoek valley, food was extremely good and my favourite Merlot so far. Excellent staff altogether a fantastic experience.

Really nice place to have dinner overlooking the valley, Very nice view! Great service & really nice food. Upstairs in the restaurant can be a bit warm, because it's behind glass. But there is also an outside terrace downstairs. Very nice vegetarian dish!!!

What a spot to watch the sunset and enjoy a wonderful meal (table 35 was perfect). We started with the samosa and then dined on the salmon and curry, both excellent options. A nice addition was the signer brought in during sunset. Meal service was...More

Best meal we had in Franschhoek, the food was beautiful. We had filo prawns with avocado to start which was exceptional, then springbok fillet which was also delicious. Very impressed with the food here!

We had lunch here on a visit to Franschhoek. The terrace was great with an outlook over the valley/mountains. Wines were ok but nothing on the winery we had just come from (La Motte). We were seated for lunch and ordered promptly, but unfortunately our...More

Description
It just seems meant to be that the location of Roca on Dieu Donne is actually translated as Rock on God Given land. This becomes apparent on first observing the iconic views of the Franschoek Valley from the upper deck of the double volume Roca Restaurant. The visionary behind the Dieu Donne wine estate, Robert Maingard, has no doubt inculcated the dynamic restaurant proprietor, Craig Sherrell, to use the space in which the energy of sacred geometry has been introduced. A visit here can be lengthy as the beauty; the food, the wine and the service have an amazing effect. The upper indoor space, seating 120 covers has its special aura, complimented by the Seed and Flower of Life and the Cross of Loraine.
