Went to la motte hoping to get lunch, no chance without a reservation although it appeared there was room in the restaurant never mind. Had the cheeseboard under the trees and I must say this was excellent, the selection and presentation more than made up for my lack of booking. Thoroughly enjoyed this but you require more than a glass... More

This restaurant offers dining at it's very best. We had lunch in the conservatory with a delightful view over the garden. There is an extensive menu consisting of locally sourced ingredients. We were given plenty of time to enjoy a glass of wine whilst we decided what to eat. The starters of three beans in a cone and the melon... More

As part of the La Motte vineyard, this is a superb addition to already sublime wines. My partner chose the incredible 5 course tasting menu with paired wines, while I went for the 3 course special that comprised a moorish anchovy, tomato salad, fillet steak with rosemary potatoes and a mousse for dessert. The restaurant is modern and beautifully decorated,... More

Very good restaurant with nice style. We booked the terrace for lunch and felt us welcome right from the beginning. Staff very friendly and efficient and some very nice design from the restaurant. Food was excellent, delicious and creative. The restaurant has an open kitchen so you say hello to the chef. We can highly recommend the restaurant and we... More

We came in family we could not enjoy the full menu as we did not book in advance but the small menu we tasted was great with an unusual combination of tastes. Wish to test the full menu but unfortunately no time :-)!! There is a nice outdoor area for the kids to enjoy as well!!! Nice surprise!!!

We went to the "Food and Wine Tasting". Our charming host Lillian took us through a 2-course meal with 7 wines to accompany the various food items. Even seasoned wine lovers will discover new taste sensations. La Motte has developed into a world-class establishment, including a lovely museum telling the story of this wine farm. It was an unforgettable experience!

Had lunch at Pierneef at La Motte. We opted to have lunch outside under the trees next to a pond because it was a nice hot day. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We started with a fish starter, steak main course and lemon meringue as desert. The steak proved to be a bad choice as it was somewhat tough... More

This place is top drawer in every detail. The entrance, driveway and grounds are magnificent and up with Vergelegen We decided to visit the wine tasting room prior to lunch. It is like a museum with art and an exhibition of pottery amongst the wine caskets refecting their different wines. The wine tasting was free up to three tastings including a reserve. But what... The name of the restaurant was inspired by La Motte's admiration of South African artist Jacob Hendrik Pierneef (1886 - 1957). Pierneef's creativity in portraying the beauty of the South African landscape is echoed in the restaurant's offering of traditional cuisine with a modern interpretation.

The restaurant interior blends beautifully with the external surroundings - a fresh, natural look inside is embraced by tranquil gardens and majestic oak trees - where a Winelands Tea with a selection of home-baked delights from the La Motte Farm Shop can be enjoyed.

The exclusively arranged Pierneef a La Motte Chef's Table offers a fine-dine menu in line with guests' preferences, as pre-arranged with Chef Michelle Theron, as well as a harmoniously complementing wine selection
