Franshoek means French corner in Afrikaans. The french influence is part of the charm of Franshoek. We ordered the 6 course Tasting Menu with paired wines. Each course was a flavour explosion and the wines complemented each course too well. The wine pours were very...More

If I could give zero points, I would do so. We visited the wine tasting at 4, an hour before it closed, to have a cheese plate and wine. The staff was already cashing up and barely paid attention. When ordering the staff was not...More

Whilst we love the Haute wine, we were not too impressed with the main course. One would imagine a place of ‘fine dining’ would offer a better choice of line fish - hake on mash with lentils. Not my favorite. The starter was very nice...More

Hello Michael, Thank you for the feedback. We do not see ourselves as fine dining, but our environment does lead one to see that, so we can understand how you may feel that way. Our line fish is mostly hake, due to the current sea...More

Friendly welcome and a perfect table just as we had reserved. The Sunday set menu of a fish cake starter and the pork and duck mains were exceptional. The Pinot Noir and the Ratafia complemented the meal perfectly.

Hello, apologies for the huge delay! We have a menu for kids, we ask that they are well-behaved! Lunches are better suited, but we also cater in the evening food-wise.

Hello, We say as long as guests are comfortable, that is what counts. Lunch is very relaxed, dinner feel free to dress up a little- we say smart casual, but all we want is for guests to feel comfortable!

Franschhoek's iconic Haute Cabriere Restaurant is well known for its unique location, set into the side of Franschhoek Mountain and overlooking the Valley. Soaring arches and the view over the cathedral-like Pinot Noir Barrel Maturation Cellar below offer an experience which is not to be missed. On sunny days, guests can enjoy the beautiful vistas over Franschhoek from the terrace, while on cool days a roaring fire creates a cosy atmosphere. The menu revolves around classic technique with bold flavours with chefs Nic van Wyk and Westley Muller in the kitchen. The flavours and textures on the plate are specifically designed to complement the range of Haute Cabrière wines and Pierre Jourdan Méthode Cap Classiques - all of them served by the glass and by the bottle at cellar door prices. Bringing all of these elements together, Haute Cabrière offers the true marriage of food and wine.
