From the moment you arrive its wonderful, first taste the wines, then take a seat in the restaurant, we had great service and thoroughly enjoyed our 'casual' but interesting lunch , having already dined out the night before we wanted to keep it light, accordingly we had a starter each and shared a pizza followed by a superb cheese board.... Starting with the walk through the arbors leading to the restaurant, right down to the very last sip of coffee we felt we were in heaven. The tables beautifully laid under a canopy of old, lush and shade-giving trees just what was needed on Avery hot January afternoon. The service from start to finish was top drawer. Knowledgable and polite and... More

This is our second time in South Africa and franschoek. We revisited some favourite spots and tried a few nee ones and bread and wine stood out from the pack. The photos don't do the venue justice. It's charming and informal. Service was friendly and extremely efficient without being overly obtrusive. Food was light and flavourful. I would heartily recommend.... More

It is always a pleasure to visit this special lunch venue. Its rustic charms set in the Moreson Winery provides a real family atmosphere - like a typical Italian restaurant in Tuscany. Set in the shade of trees surrounded by Lime Trees and Vines creates a cool spot for the full enjoyment of exquisite food. As we have visited several... More

Visited this delightful luncheon restaurant many, many times over many, many, years and Maril & I have had only sweet words to share Today it didn't quite warrant it's high rating The food was a tad disappointing with the duck parfait a valiant miss and Maril's oxtail ravioli was rather poor as well as being sparse We did of course, comment at the... We have been coming here for 10 years now and unlike other restaurants it has never wobbled. It's not just the food that is consistently good, but the welcome, the service and staff as well. Neil Jewell is so highly regarded that chefs in Cape Town and the Winelands state him as the source of their charcuterie meats on their... More

When the weather is good it's great to sit outdoors in their garden area which is very reminiscent of the South of France. Great ambiance. Not so good if you have to sit inside. Food very good. Cucumber soup with tuna tartar great starter as is the charcuterie plate as a main. The chef specialises in producing his own. We... More

What a great place - fabulous wine and a menu too good to just stick to the one course we had intended! Fabulous charcuterie sharing platter to start and the freshest salad leaves I have ever tasted! Don't miss the soufflé for pudd! We shared as we were all very full but stunningly light and looking forward to going back... More
