My partner and I stopped for lunch here on a Sunday afternoon while visiting the wineries in Franschhoek and the Huguenot museum. We had to wait a little to get a table (mind you, we didn't book either so that's not an issue). The service was fantastic and the food was delicious - we had the 3 course option and... More

This is a must visit place for anyone visiting Franschhoek! The most delicious food and wine, in an idyllic setting. The food is pricey but ours was exceptional. The children's menu however offers extremely good value.

We actually only found this place by coincidence because most other wine farms were closed as we were desperate for some nice lunch - and I am so glad we did! A very, very cute place with absolutely divine food. The flavours are well-balanced in every single bite, and you get the cutest and most delicious little bites of deliciousness... More

I've eaten prawn cocktails on five continents for six decades and never had one to equal Neil's latest creation at the wonderful Bread & Wine - it is creative, distinctive, stimulating & very tasty. This is only one of several magical creations on his latest menu - the liver parfait is amazing particularly with the plums & the chicken is... More

We visited for a wine-tasting only, but were completely charmed by the beautiful, tranquil setting as is obvious from other reviewers comments. The staff were very friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. We had a choice of 5 wines to taste and found them very palatable. We could not stay for lunch as we had a reservation elsewhere, but would have been... More

I booked several weeks ago in order to make sure we could have lunch here. We have been before several times. I love it here eating under the trees. The food is beautifully presented and the tastes good. My starter, the leek asparagus and veloute sauce was okay but nothing special. The disappointment this time for me was my braiid... More

Morrison has some excellent wines , which we enjoyed in the tasting . We had high expectations of Bread and Wine , which was a very nice location . The food was over fussy , difficult to know what you were eating at times . Prawn cocktail starter had far to much sauce and almost no prawns , the vegetable... More

Fantastic setting under the oak trees and a great food experience and worth visiting!! Just remember to book up front as they get very busy lunch times.

Bread and Wine is somewhat off the beaten track on the Happy Valley road opposite La Motte wine estate. Many locals do not even know about it or its location. It is however a very special place for those in the know, and the location of the restaurant tables under the trees next to a stream makes it the complete... More

Very well presented dishes but the detail let them down. Some weird combinations - chef is trying too hard. Chicken balloutine was very salty and no plain carbs to balance it out. A nice potato fondant or creamy mash would have done the trick - not the pickled cabbage it came with. Salted macademia ice cream was inedible- way too... More
