This diner is an ICON in the City of Salem. Although the long time owners retired several years ago, the Diner continues to provide great food and service. All of the staff are friendly and treat you like family. Food is good. The atmosphere is a little outdated but that adds to the "charm of an old fashioned diner"

Pleasant atmosphere and food tasted ok. But I ordered a Gyro, which should be on pita bread and was served a gyro on a white tortilla wrap. Disliked that jukeboxes were for display only.

This is always our half-way stop on our way to Wildwood. Never disappointed, the food is always good and lots of it. I usually get an omelette and the home fries are perfect. Staff is always friendly. Love the classic diner atmosphere, too.

It's a diner: large menu, daily specials, bottomless cup of coffee. We had breakfast on a Saturday, the place was very busy and service a bit slow as a result (but not annoyingly so). But our omelets were tasty as usual and the home fries done just right. Prices are quite reasonable as a typical South Jersey diner. Rating is... More

The special was tuna which I ordered. When it came out it was swordfish. Did not have enough time to reorder so made the best of it. When I told the owner/manager he just shrugged this shoulders. I asked him it the cook spoke English and he just shrugged his shoulders again. He has a very bad interpersonal skills. Try the... More

We went back in time as soon as we walked through the door of this great diner. Housed in a 1944 Sterling Streamliner car, it has character oozing out of every screw and rivet that holds it together - and the internal decor is perfect. Our waitress suited the place perfectly - happy, friendly, helpful (even tolerant of a pair... More

This place is a relic, could be a museum! A 1/2lb burger with homemade soup and fries for $5.95 and it was delicious. Chicken wrap was packed with chicken. Not fancy, could use a little cleaning in the corners, service a tad slow, but friendly and good food at good prices.

The Salem Oak Diner is BACK!!! Once the PRIDE of Salem starting in the 1950's through the 1990's, the "OAK" has had its "Ups & Downs". Living in the area, I have seen this place undergo Ownership & Management changes, mostly having a negative result. HOWEVER, the most recent management change is producing results. The Manager "Mike", has a New,... More

We followed the new owners up the street from the old Quinton Diner when they moved in November 2013, so we've been their customers since 2010. Food has always been anywhere from good to excellent! Their homemade soups alone make it worth the trip! Portions are very generous, prices are reasonable, and service is friendly. This is one of the... More

I had an evening meeting in Salem, New Jersey, and a colleague recommended this little diner for dinner. It was a blast from the past. The service was ok; this is a classic lunch counter diner place and I wasn't exactly expecting top notch service. However, the food was absolutely delicious and it was a bargain. This was 1950s cooking... More
