The food is fantastic although the service is a bit slow. Overall the experience is great and the restaurant is beautiful.

If you wish to have a very romantic dinner with your sweetie this is the place! The dining rooms are gorgeous and the food is amazing. We are vegetarian so sometimes that can be difficult, but Cafe Matisse made it happen, off the menu! Very charming!

As usual Peters food shines ! Can't say enough good about Larry and all the wonderful servers either. Got in on a Saturday night but I have to say I enjoy dining here during the week much better. The noise level is much lower.

Based upon numerous reviews I have read, I was expecting an overall unforgettable experience, My wife and I thought it was very good, not great. I was disappointed in the ambience. The room is small and there is no natural place for the waiters to stand while they are waiting for you to finish a course. They stand in a... More

My husband and I visited Café Matisse and loved most of the food. We picked the three-meal course for 75. We were excited about trying their food since the reviews are so good. The first course was really good - we had the tacos and tuna crudo, both very good although the tacos were the best. For our main course... More

Very disappointed. Expected the food and service to be outstanding based on some of the reviews, but it was not. We had eaten there probably 10 years ago and the food was unbelievable. It was an explosion of taste with every bite. I don't know if the chef has changed since the last time we visited. My husband and I... More

Last night was our 4th visit to Matisse, usually for celebrations. One of prettiest restaurants ever experienced. The space feels like a cozy boutique museum inside a bed and breakfast dining room. Small but not stuffy or loud. Wait staff is stellar. Among the best dishes we have ever eaten. Seasonal menu – every dish is inviting, and expectations meet... More

Our dinner Friday night was terrific. I especially loved the duck special with grilled duck breast and duck confit and the fried artichoke special. Food and service were both first rate.

We went to Cafe Matisse to celebrate a birthday and the food was delicious! The menu is fixed price for small plates of food. Between the two of us we tried 5 savory dishes and every one of them was excellent. We didn't realize before ordering, but you can swap dessert for another savory for a price, so if you're... More

The dishes get smaller and smaller . You realize that after patronizing this restaurant many years. They also seem to get very amorphous , with all the ingredients blending together like a piece of hash. Sirloin, commonly used, is a cheap piece of steak. The ever present one large shrimp. Lobster mac? Where is the lobster? Duck: the few pieces... More
