My wife and I enjoyed a delicious meal at our favorite restaurant on Friday night celebrate my wife's birthday. We had the veal Carmella . This was preceded by a bowel of sausage and tortolene soup . As usual everything was delicious and the portions were so large that we had to take the left overs home for a meal... More

This was our fourth or fifth time at Spano's. Even in the off season, Saturday night is always a tough table and if you don't get there early you won't get a table because they won't take reservations. We were there very early, seated promptly and all went well. Service was attentive. We hadn't been there in a while and... More

Tripadvisor always does a good job comparing restaurants in a given town, this restaurant can be compared to ANY ITALIAN RESTAURANT ANYWHERE. Good old real deal Italian food and lots of it, even I took a doggie bag home. Red sauce was better than good it was great. The atmosphere was old style as well, with its copper ceilings and... Wow! We went with 10 people and 10 out of 10 said it was fantastic! I was very impressed! I want to go back! Help! I can't stop using all these exclamation points! The food was great. The portions were generous. The prices were reasonable. The service was friendly and efficient (not easy for a party of 10). I can't... More

In addition to friendly, fast and attentive service, this restaurant provides piping hot, delicious Italian fare. On a Tuesday evening in October, the wait was only about 5 minutes. The food was among the best Italian cooking I've ever had.

What a nice place to enjoy friends and family. The service was very good; menu selection extensive and food excellent. We tried a variety of plates ranging from chicken Zia Carmela; Chicken Giancana, Veal Chop Valdostana and Eggplant Rolatini. Each dish was perfectly prepared and met our expectations. We will definitely be back. Try and get there early as this... More

I'm a lover of meatballs and these were absolutely delicious! Risotto balls were fantastic as well! It's bring your own alcohol and we didn't realize until after we sat down so my husband walked a couple blocks up to get a bottle of wine for our meal. Family run business that cares about their customers and their experience at the... More

Description
Spano's Ristorante Italiano is a wonderful little store front restaurant just like you see in Brooklyn, with a quaint interior featuring oversized comfy booths and Italian music to complete the ambiance. The restaurant gets bustling after 6pm, and on weekends there can be quite a wait. The good news is they're open 7 days a week, so you can get the same amazing food on Tuesday without a wait. Speaking of the food, its authentic old world Italian prepared by Chef Joseph Spano. All ingredients are fresh, never frozen...fresh local fish and seafood, the highest quality veal, cut and pounded daily for the Veal dishes, Same with the chicken and eggplant, all prepared fresh daily. Spano's marinara sauce is the original winner of the Boss of the sauce contest sponsored by a local radio station and featuring all of the Shores Italian restaurants, as voted by a panel of judges and the general public. All of our ravioli, cheese filled, lobster, and specialty (like roasted butternut squash, or Osso Bucco) are handmade. They make the dough, they make the filling, and they stuff and cut each ravioli by hand. The portions are oversized, and the prices are very reasonable. They have an extensive menu and use only Certified Angus Beef, many of the dishes can be seen on their Facebook page at spanosristoranteitaliano and they open daily at 4pm. 7 days a week. With homemade desserts like the NY cheesecake, tiramisu, bread pudding and apizza dolce (Italian ricotta cheesecake) and delicious Cappuccino to finish off your meal, you can't go wrong at Spano's!
