I've eaten Shriver's taffy and fudge since the 1960s. The quality remains high, and they have a variety of great house-made candy beyond fudge and taffy. I am partial to their chocolate covered marshmallows, jordan almonds, jelly slices, and candied ginger. Plus there are lots of old-fashioned brands they offer. They ship too. There are historic photos with explanations on... More

They had so many crazy yummy good flavors of taffy to satisfy any taste. You could stand there and watch them make the taffy and other candies in the back area. It was reasonable priced for all the various types of sweet treats offered. They had some old fashioned candy that I hadnt seen in forever which was great to... More

I'm not a big taffy fun, but there is something about Shrivers. The flavors have a nice zing to them and they don't have that airy texture that feels too artificial. I'm a fan. It's nice to see how they are made as well.

I've tried the other candy stores but I like Shriver's the best. I found the hard to find candies and everything is so fresh.

No trip to OCNJ is complete without a trip to Shrivers to see the salt water taffy being made in the back - and then selecting just the flavors you love from the bins. And maybe a little fudge to go along with that salt water taffy. Don't forget some for the folks back home!

We always make a purchase of some of the finest fudge and taffy offered on the Ocean City boardwalk and Shrivers tops them all. Love the many taffy choices. A pound and a half usually lasts me a week of gouging myself of the delectable flavors of the chewy and tasty taffy. Purchase 5 bars of fudge to bring home... More

It had been 57 years since I had visited Shriver's, and the childhood images of it were etched into my brain. Aside from the taffy pulling machine being moved from the front window, to a rear area (still viewable), everything else seemed frozen in time. Not sure how many varieties of taffy they make (I can't count that high), but... More

Before leaving Ocean City, we have to make our way to Shriver's Salt Water. We like that you can mix and match all the different flavors of taffy and fudge. Candy is very fresh, as they make it on the premises.

Anytime you're in a place like the Ocean City Boardwalk you have to be a little cautious. Sure, the place has been around since 1950, but is that because it is good? Continuing to exist on reputation? Or in the perfect location? Even then, do the teenagers making minimum wage even care about the quality or service or product? Is... More
