We really enjoyed our dinner. My husband had the paella and I had the lobster. Our appetizers were great too. We had octopus that was delicious, oysters and escargot. Loved them all. The wait staff was great too because we had our 7 month old and they smiled at her and really welcomed us. It was a great ambiance too.... More

My coworker and I stumbled onto this place because our usually lunch spot was closed. The services and food was absolutely wonderful and the Sangaria was fantastic.

Found out Adega means wine cellar. Nice varied Spanish/Portuguese menu with excellent specials. Very nice atmosphere. You dine in a wine cellar. Food quality was excellent and prices average. Sangria was average. Will definitely will go back.

Abanoub, please know that I'm quite concerned to read about your last experience dining with us because my staff and I only wish for our guests to leave feeling happy. We have eaten at a number of Portuguese/Spanish restaurants in the Ironbound district and Adega Grill is surely among the best.Excellent attentive service throughout the meal. The main courses of Paella, Mariscada in green sauce and stuffed red snapper were outstanding, filled with fresh seafood professionally prepared and plated. The pitcher of sangria was good but could have benefited from... More

We have been here a few times before, but this last time we came it was for my parents anniversary. The sangria was absolutely delicious and so were all of our meals. My husband enjoyed the cod and I had the tropical filet mignon, which was divine. My father also really enjoyed his lamb. Overall, we would definitely return, however... More

We stopped in prior to a performance at NJPAC for an early dinner. Things were a bit nuts as Portugal had just won to advance to the semi-finals of the Euro Cup tournament; so there was quite a bit of loud celebrating going on in the streets and at the bar. Nevertheless, the service at the restaurant was quite good.... More

With an accommodating and quaint atmosphere, Adega Grill in Newark is the hottest new place in the Ironbound section. Inspired by its name, Adega, meaning wine cellar in Portuguese, the motif of the decoration is of vineyards and wine making. From the moment you enter, tones of old world yellows, stone fireplaces, wrought iron cellar gates and sconces, soft candlelight, coves with upholstered sofa seating and friendly staff, it's an undeniable inviting space, nothing short of extraordinary. Two special occasion tables with antique throne chairs and live piano music add to the intimacy. Two romantic dining rooms cater to an elegant crowd, while the long narrow bar gathers a friendly and fun bunch nightly. The cuisine truly upholds the name of Fine Portuguese/Spanish Dining, seafood and fish, organic meats, the freshest ingredients and to maintain the tradition, huge portions are to be expected. The menu is seasonal and in addition to a varied selection of delectable dishes to satisfy any palette, daily specials are always featured. The wine list with over 180 selections is an ambitious one that keeps growing, but sure not to disappoint the discriminating connoisseur.
