The bistro is a quaint property just a short walk from the PATH station. We attended on eat-all-you-can-mussels on a Monday. The mussels were very tasty with the Thai sauce my favourite. The garlic butter was also very good and not overpowering the taste of the mussels. Great wine list and a great selection of single malt whiskeys. Service was... More

Went there on restaurant week. Wonderful food, great selection of drinks and friendly service from a lovely Irish lass from Derry. Place is very cozy and there is a feeling of warmth and good times. Plus and this is a big plus, there is parking in their courtyard. What more can you ask for!

Great staff, amazing menu, strong cocktails and a reasonably priced wine list. Nice bar crowd, good music too.

We met friends here for Sunday lunch. The servers are attentive and helpful. We needed to change the table and they were quick to assist. The Bloody Mary cocktails here are nice and spicy, made with authentic ingredients. It is great place to dine and have conversation with friends. I started with a tasty winter salad, then the masterfully prepared... More

Wish I knew the secret to their delectable crispy batter but this was the best Fried Calamari I ever had - and we eat it often. The Ahi Tuna tartare was lovely also. Next. We are shared their Cassoulet. It reminded us of our first taste of this great dish when we went to Carcassonne, France. How nice to have... More

Bistro La Source looks just like a bistro you'd find in France. It is located in a pretty historic section of Jersey City, just steps to the PATH train. No blaring music, just good conversation, ....which in this restaurant thrives. Diners know New Year's Eve can be iffy given high expectations on the last evening of the year. Bistro La... More

Met another couple last night for dinner. Rarely is a restaurant open on a Monday, however, Bistro La Source pulls out all the stops. Monday is Mussels' night...all you can eat for $12....with four different au jus. Your favorite French dishes will be found inside the menu. The French Onion soup in a thick onion filled broth, delish as I... More

We were on a weeks holiday to NY and found this quaint bistro on our travels. Glad we made reservations because it was extremely busy with no spare tables inside. We ordered 4 different meals and all received above average pass marks. Staff were friendly and we eventually finished off our evening at a table outside due to how busy... More

Good Continental Euro food. Great bar too. Can get busy at popular hours. Try eating al fresco in the evening. First time go during off hours. We find it friendly at any time.

I've eaten here about three or four times and every time I do I'm impressed by the friendly welcome we receive, the local neighborhood vibe, and the European-style feel of the small dining room. The food is typical French bistro fare and the wine list is full of great choices by the glass -- and at reasonable prices. This year... More
