I have tried a lot of mozzarella in my day including the good stuff straight from Campania. Lisa's is definitely the best that I have tried here in American and even rivals some of the best in Italy. Its good on its own or on a piece of bread with a little OEVO. Also they use it on all the... More

The owner gave us some history of the store & his family. He was wonderful! He took time out to do a demo of how he makes mozzarella, then gave us all a taste. He served us some delicious Italian inspired hero sandwiches. It was part of the Mangia Italian Hoboken food tour. Everything in the store looked & smelled... More

We stopped at Lisa's Deli as part of the Mangia Hoboken Food Tour and it was hands down my favorite stop on the tour. Besides the fresh mozz being out of this world, Tony the Mozzarella Boss was a genuine and very knowledgeable Italian man. This deli also understands the importance of good fresh bread for a sandwich. YUM!

When visiting my brother and sister in law this weekend, we took out sandwiches from this deli. My sister in law and I split the eggplant panini. The eggplant was breaded, but not heavily fried. Great pesto and delicious fresh mozzarella. Everyone else had the Italian sub. They all enjoyed them and commented that the best thing about them was... More

Enter the shop and ask for fresh mozzarella. You will not regret. Eat peacefully at the outside tables.

We have been coming in from Rhode Island since last spring and discovered this place last fall. Every visit to Hoboken has a stop at Lisa's for lunch or a grocery item or both. Visiting brings me back to my childhood from the food to the service. See you soon!

I've been going to Lisa's on and off for 8 yrs. Every time I go back I'm disappointed. The staff here is flat out rude. The sandwiches aren't bad but there are much better Italian delis. The big selling point is that they are open on Sunday's and have a big menu. I would only go back if I was... More

Hoboken has a lot of great delis, and Lisa's is no exception. It definitely IS an Italian Deli (you hear the music, see the folks, and you know that everything is authentic). The place has great Mutz and fantastic sandwiches. The best part is that you can order your food to be delivered (though the wait time is a while).

This place has amazing fresh Mutz that you can buy per pound or on a sandwich. We have also gotten catering by them before and their assorted sandwiches and hot trays taste very fresh and homemade. The italian sub is my favorite and I have not come accross a better one yet.
