Run, I'm serious, run to get a meal here. We started our meal with mussels. My husband had the spicy red sauced mussels and I had the Thai mussels ... why did I wait so long to try these??? Succulent mussels that were a little...More

This is one of my favorite places to eat! Located near the Walt Whitman Bridge. The seafood is awesome here. Try the mussels in red sauce. Great local atmosphere. Love the wine selection! Off street parking. On open table too!

My husband heard this seafood cafe was very good so we tried it. A beautiful cafe... very surprising among the row homes in downtown Gloucester. Gorgeous old bar, with winding steps to several restaurant areas. Server John was curt but cordial. A full seafood menu...More

Best burger I have had in ages! We thought of getting seafood, but it was beer and burgers in the end.

Just had dinner there tonight. Another great meal. Friendly service with reasonable prices. Tonight was a special menu for County restaurant week. Oyster stew was phenomenal. Our server, Christina was great.

Our large group was happy with the great food and service. Seafood was very good which was expected. The surprise was an outstanding filet steak and perfectly seasoned mash potatoes and vegetables. Will return soon.

I have dined at Max's many times. It used to be better. Service is slow, food is average, and prices are high. We waited an hour between courses. The place wasn't busy. We will not be back.

If you can, do, but I think that two people could be accomodated on a Sunday.
