Nice place, friendly staff, good sides, reasonable portion but, only average BBQ. The ribs tasted like all you can eat buffett and the brisket was pot roast. Little seasoning or smoke flavor. Ribs were steam reheated and tasted like it. Ok place for a meal but, if you want real good BBQ try someplace else.

This was a great little find. I was up at Dix, McGuire and Lakehurst base for the weekend and the menu was in the lobby of the hotel where I was staying. I called the front desk and inquired if anyone on staff had heard of it. It was a resounding YES, go, it's great. So we did. We were... More

I just moved here from Texas so my standards for BBQ are pretty high. This place did not disappoint. It meets the standard for Texas BBQ.

The food here at local smokes BBQ is delicious! I've been to a lot of barbecue restaurants across the country and this is one of the best. Brisket was delicious and cornbread rivals any I've had. The pulled pork wasn't the best but still okay. It's a bit pricey but worth it for the taste. It's seat yourself and order... More

I recommend visiting this restaurant if in the area. I had the pulled pork platter- the meat itself was not my favorite but I enjoyed the Mac and cheese and cornbread. Also tried the brisket, which I would recommend instead. I believe the menu is overpriced by about $2 an item, but considering the amount of business at certain times... More

If you like barbecued food, this is a place in the area to go! They are absolutely fantastic and the food always taste great. The ribs are meeting, and have a great seasoning and sauce! The only downside, is they are a little pricey for the area!

I am usually not a fan of smoked meat but this restaurant is my exception. The meat (whichever kind you order) is cooked to perfection. It literally melts in your mouth. The portions are a decent size and there are a lot of choices on the menu. The atmosphere is casual and the staff is friendly. A great place to... More

Food was good, collard greens rocks and the brisket and pull pork with sauce was excellent. Would try a few more dishes over the next few days for lunch!

They serve Carolina-style BBQ, with a slightly sweet sauce. The food is good, and the service, though not fast, was good.

The place inside looks like a fast food place but the food is very good. I have been there twice. I have had the beef brisket, which is good but my favorite is the pulled pork. Like I said before, the food is really good. You order at the counter and then you get your food. The service is ok,... More
