I have mixed feelings about this place. The service I will say is good. The décor looks old and could use some freshening up The food was decent. We did enjoy the volcano fish. The rest was alright. In my opinion, I think the place is over priced.

Whoever has rated this restaurant as good must have never had good Chinese food. This was the worst food, inedible. Went there for a birthday celebration and all 6 of us were so disappointed. All the food was tasteless and some of the chicken didn't look like chicke. The waiter said to us "this used to be a good restaurant"... More

Excellent food above average service. Decor is nice though a little bit of a throw back. My wife even got a little thrill when she saw one of her Real Housewives of NJ stars and her husband there lol. Anyway good food good service.

We often go to Chengdu before NY Giants games and have been frequenting this restaurant on and off for 15 years. I read the negative reviews and it seems there was a period with changes to chef and food. We've been a couple of times recently (including last night) and to us, it hasn't changed. We ordered steamed dumplings in... More

The last few times we went to Chengdu 46, we noticed it was not the same, but we gave it another chance, and were very pleasantly surprised. The Peking Duck was outstanding, as well as the Shrimp Duet, which we both had for dinner. The service was first class. All around we were very pleased.

Have been going to this restaurant for years but went in September and have to ask why change something that is excellent? The spare ribs were so tough and not the usual melt in your mouth honey glazed-nor was the crispy fish the usual large fish cooked to perfection-it looked like a fried minnow compared to the usual-so Chengdu 46... We cannot emphasize enough how disappointed we are in this restaurant. We have been customers since the restaurant opened, always looking forward to going back. Not anymore, there are many empty tables. We used to wait for a table, but now you can walk right in. We will not go back unless we find there is some indication that they... More

This has always been a great restaurant but our last experience was disappointing. Too bad. The green beans, which were always crispy and tasteful, were soggy and overdone. The other dishes were not up to their usual standards either. I will wait until I hear good reports before we go back.

Each time I come here the staff and service is always consistent. The food is always very good and the staff are always attentive. I will come back here over and over again. It's that good.
