We always make our way to the Carriage House Tearoom each time we visit Cape May. It is a pleasant way to relax after a morning on the beach, touring or shopping. We enjoy the selections from Three Tier Luncheon or Lunch Menu. They will inform you of the Specials of the Day and also the Selections contained on the... More

As a part of a 60th Birthday weekend in Cape May, we enjoyed a great Sunday afternoon tea. The service was prompt and corteous, as well as the food being delicious in this very nice setting. On top of all that, when I called back after returning home that I left a very special hat behind, they generously mailed it... More

The Physick Estate is beautiful and always worth a visit. I had tea in the Carriage house about 3 years ago and although it wasn't high tea, it was nice. I returned yesterday with friends who treated me to a Halloween tea for my birthday. The food was mediocre and the service was terrible although not the fault of the... More

I suppose a location like this can be up and down, but we were there after a tour of the Physick Estate. The food was good, served promptly and pleasantly by our server. Prices were reasonable for the area and time of year. We both had Chef's choice of tea sandwiches which had a small side salad. These are small... More

On a scale of 1 - 10, the rating for the afternoon "Tea for Two" would be a three; 2 for the music and 1 because we were served food. There was no resemblance to "High Tea" or even a tea party. There was nothing elegant about it. Basically, little coffe cups, plastic, and plane plates. We waited to be... More

The years have not been nice to Cape May Tea Room. The service was very slow and the Food was less than acceptable. We sat for nearly 2 hours with half that time waiting for The next item . When we expressed our disappointment the manager said sorry and walked away. Too many quantity restaurants in Cape May too settle... More

Friend and I had tea at the Carriage House. It was nice, relaxed, sitting in outdoor tented patio. 1 We had the Tea Luncheon, there is also the Classic Afternoon Tea. Both include the usual assortment of scones, small tea sandwiches, sweets and pot of tea, the luncheon option offers a cup of soup or salad. It was enjoyable. We... More

After a day of walking around looking at Victorian houses we were footsore and ready for delightful refreshment. That was exactly what we found, plus a lot of charm. Two of us shared an afternoon tea, complete with several tiers of sandwiches and sweets, in a well-ventilated tent looking out on gardens. We needed to rest, so we didn't worry... More
