Truly authentic Chinese cuisine. Not for the feint of heart. Had steamed dumplings, scallion pancakes, chicken casserole, tongue and tripe and eggplant and string beans. Only complaint I had was that the only chicken in the chicken casserole had to be pulled off neck and backs. Lots of bones and very little meat. Best scallion pancake I've ever had.

The Chinese name of this restaurant is "Old Hunan". Hunan is a province famous for its spicy food and preserved meat. If you cannot handle food that is too spicy, be sure to let the staff know. When I ate there with my friend, an Indian woman brought two Caucasian friends dining at the table next to us. They were... More

My favorite restaurant. I love this place & gave them a 100% support even on my personal food blog. No frills authentic Chinese food with a wide variety of delicacies & staple tea. We love to eat the 3 pepper chicken, jumbo shrimp salt & pepper, short ribs & sautéed beans along with fish in chilli oil, steamed flounder &... More

This is refreshingly authentic Chinese restaurant. It serves the sizable local Chinese community with real, authentic, mainland Chinese fare. We recently celebrated my birthday by trying it out. It is located in a somewhat funky building that used to be a neighborhood bar, but is now decorated perhaps one or two steps up from your ordinary neighborhood eat-in/takeout shop. There... More

We had a reunion in NJ and because the participant came all from China we had food in Fortune Cookies. In the beginning I was the only non Chinese but after a while a couple came also in. There was a lot of food chosen by the Chinese and the taste and amount was good. Basically nothing special but once... More

Whatever you do, DO NOT order from the American-style Chinese page at the back of the menu. If you come to this restaurant expecting General Tso's chicken or some other standard takeout dish, you will be seriously missing out. We ordered the steamed whole flounder, green beans (干煸四季豆), and mapo tofu. Portions were extremely generous and we had plenty to... More

I walked in to order take out and felt like an unwanted outsider. Was rudely told to sit and wait while other "locals" of the restaurant were handled first - many of those arriving after me. Upon opening my order back home realized many items were missing and I was overcharged. Will never be returning.

If you want a "REAL" chinese experience this is the place... Very interesting menu spacing from pig ears to kidney, very good fish preparations. The soups are superbe.

We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at Fortune Cookie in the Bradley Gardens section of Bridgewater. Good friends recommended Fortune Cookie, telling us that although they had a Chinese-American menu at the back, the authentic Chinese dishes were where the culinary excitement was. We found that remark to be true. We shared a serving of Scallion pancakes, which were wonderfully flavored.... More
