Moxy had great reviews, I believe a thumbs up from James Beard. It was mediocre in my opinion as far as the food went. The atmosphere was great, charming renovated space. Service was also wonderful, warm and friendly. Had a tasty tapas, grilled apple & pear with chevre cheese but was beyond tiny...microscopic! Also had some a kind of salady... More

Loved this place! Came here with my aunt and sister to catch up and what a wonderful way to do it- sharing tapas! Such a fun experience and the food was awesome. I have a dairy sensitivity and there were plenty of options for me to choose from without feeling like I was missing out. The only downer was that... More

Fun place with an upstairs and downstairs. Very lively but not overly loud. Food is high quality if a bit straightforward for a James Beard nominee. A very good value overall.

Cheers to the Seacoast masters of the small plate. Not our first time here, but there was a large gap between visits. That won't happen again. We forget everything there is to love about Chef Matt's creative takes on farm to table comfort food. Close your eyes and order anything. You'll absolutely love it!

My husband and kids love pork belly. They immediately ordered the rhubarb-lacquered pork belly bites and raved. The crispy pork spoke to their love of savory-sweet. We also loved the short-rib marmalade. We enjoyed the beet-rye crisp salad. The Jonnycakes were outstanding and served with lettuce leaves to wrap thin jonnycakes with tasty shredded pork and top with a molasses-based... More

We saw this on a list of best farm to table restaurants for each state so we picked it for dinner. I don't generally like tapa for dinner as it is sometimes difficult to piece together a cohesive and good dinner. The wait staff was very friendly and helped us put together a really nice dinner of interesting and fresh... More

Fun friendly staff-good drinks! My main issue was that the mini dogs sounded so wonderful on the menu but the implementation was weak-they were mushy! If you're visiting Portsmouth there are better places. Permission not granted.

I had the johnny cake community and beef short ribs - pure deliciousness! A bit messy but do not miss either.

A gem of a place that is very retro and the food and staff is to die for. The small plate theme is such a treat that allows you to share and taste many flavored. The kale was my fav with shirt ribs a close second.

What a fun experience at Moxy! Great American tapas in a cool atmosphere. We especially enjoyed the fried pickles, beef short ribs, chicken sandwich, and fried dough. Inventive and unique -- seasoned just right. Pleasant staff and timely service. Expensive but worth it!

Thank Donna D

Moxy; Self-possessed confidence. An attitude of fearlessness in everyday circumstances. The capacity to stand alone in favor of an unpopular opinion or course of action with a casual demeanor. Moxy is a modern American tapas restaurant focusing on smaller plates meant for sharing and taking our inspiration from our local farmers, culture and history. Moxy is tapas in spirit, energy, style of din
