I must be honest we have had quite a few meals at The District in the past 6 months. Whether it's sitting out under the tree-lights on a balmy summer evening just my husband and I or it's a family of 10 Sunday brunch under the front awning - we LOVE The District! The food is great and has a... More

We went with Friends during "Restaurant Week". Portions were disappointing small, though acceptable, nothing rave about though. What really was upsetting- our server asked if I would like another fill of my Ice Tea glass, not once but twice. When the check came, there was $3.00 charge per glass of tea- the original plus the two refills. My wife's glass... More

Stopped in for a bite on a Saturday evening. We ordered an app and an entree. The poutine was so over salted it was inedible and was sent back. The entree was also over salted, the gnocchi in it was hard, and I would have sent that back as well. My beer was nearly room temp and served in a... More

We met another couple from out of town and even though the restaurant was busy hosting for the NH Film Festival we had nice friendly service and we were all pleased with our dishes that ranged from scallops, salmon, veggie burger and the pad thai dish. My salmon was perfectly cooked and had a wonderful flavor, paired nicely with sweet... More

...and we were pleasantly surprised. My partner and I walked in grouchy (possibly more me than him) and damp (how had I forgotten to keep my umbrella in my bag?). We were seated and greeted by gracious, efficient, knowledge staff. Coffee was strong. Eggs (of a couple of stripes, mine with cheese and veg, his on an open faced breakfast... More

On our annual trip to Portsmouth, we tried having dinner here. The interior decor was contemporary and simple, and there was an outside eating area. A couple of us ordered salmon on a spinach base and another person ordered a fish taco trio. The salmon was very okay...probably cooked medium well, and lacked a lot of flavor. It tasted just... The menu is all over the place which is fine is you can pool it all off. not sure they can. I had the seared tuna, which was flavorless. My friend fared better with the short ribs and the fish tacos.

The District has great seating as most of it is outside to enjoy the New England scenery. The staff is friendly but service a bit slow. This restaurant struck my interest as it was quite busy for Sunday brunch, however food was a disappointment.

I had a nice veggie omelette and some great IPA. The waiter was top notch and simply put I would go back. Makes no sense to bad mouth a place for cost...Portsmouth is expensive and we'll know for its good food. In fact this waiter pointed that there are over 50 good restaurants in the city. My only complaint is... More

We came here for restaurant week in the winter and had a great experience. The daily specials are done well. However, the prices are too high regularly for what you get. We came again this summer on week night when there were not many people. The service was ok, but the food was not. A $17 burger should not taste... More
