We have dined at Ri Ra a few times for lunch over the past year. The staff has always been thoughtful. And the food has been terrific. Great dining for lunch, etc.

This review is based solely on the pathetic service that I received. While waiting to meet up with family for dinner, I stopped by for a Guinness and to hear the live music during the Maritime Festival. The dining room was packed because that's where...More

Beautiful architecture (in an old bank). Has a huge selection of beer, and a couple ciders. Not many GF or vegan food options, but the French fries were thick and good. TVs were viewable from pretty much anywhere - so catching the sox while chatting...More

We have been to this location and the location in Las Vegas. This location is in a former bank. They actually have a few seats behind bars from the former bank vault. Great atmosphere any time we have been here.

Ri ra is always a safe bet for good TVs and drinks, with a great selection on tap. The Portsmouth location is in an old bank, which makes for a cool atmosphere. It's a safe bet for a quick drink.

THE OLDEST BANK BUILDING IN THE USA The two separate bank buildings of 22 and 26 Market Square, actually started as one building called The New Hampshire Bank, back in 1803, making it the oldest bank building in The United States. The New Hampshire Bank occupied the site since 1782, but the current building was constructed in 1803. In 1869, the building was divided with the Portsmouth Savings Bank taking the north half and The First National Bank occupying the south half of the building. When the Portsmouth Savings Bank needed to expand in 1903, it did so by incorporating a saloon to its north into the building. When the Bank opened in 1904, incorporating the neighboring saloon, it did so with a newly constructed huge glass dome depicting the Great Seal of New Hampshire; this remains the focal point for when Rí Rá opened its doors in March 2009. In 1977 the building(s) were admitted to the National Register of Historic Places
