This winery has a brilliant Japanese/Korean restaurant the food is outstanding I have never been a fan of Sushi until I had Sushi here . The dishes basically are sharing dishes and all of them very tasty, the service is very slick but not intrusive, you can either eat indoors with air conditioning or outdoors there is ample room for children to play. The Fishbone wines are excellent and reasonably priced . This is an excellent venue for lunch

Seven family members, five adults and two juniors, decided to visit Fishbone for a pre-Christmas get together. The restaurant is all class, friendly greeting and great service from impeccably groomed staff; a menu offering a great selection of dishes from a range of sushi rolls, small dishes, salads and large meals, nice table location. Chilled water supplied as soon as we were seated. My wife enjoyed the Panko crumbed prawns and the Bulgogi fries. My meal was equally memorable with the Gyoza dumplings and Teriyaki Chicken. Both of us enjoyed a coffee accompanied by an ice-cream sandwich and Orange blossom and raspberry square respectively. Similar murmurings from all other attendees. The accompanying drinks of Fishbone Rose, Fishbone Black SSB and the EB Kolsch complimented the meal. Another amazing venue to put on our list for a repeat visit.

A visiting interstate friend and I wandered into Fishbone Winery and Japanese Restaurant on a busy Saturday lunchtime on the off chance of getting a table for two. We enjoyed a wine tasting while we were kindly accommodated by the friendly and helpful staff. The food was fantastic and the three dishes we chose Gyoza, Prawn Salad and Soft Shell Crab Sushi was complimented by a lovely glass of Rose. This was more than enough food for 2 people. This place never lets me down, I highly recommend a visit.

We dined here last year to celebrate our engagement and now we are making it a tradition to come back every year. Abby, who served us, was excellent. She was very knowledgable and friendly. She always topped up our glasses, asked if we needed anything, went through the menu with us and the wine selection etc. She made our dining experience a very pleasant one. The food was also delicious as always!

Awesome !! Our son recommended this place for its quality food. We were really impressed. The dishes are tapas style and the waitress said try 4-5 dishes. We picked 4 and couldn’t of been happier. My wife is not a fan of Japanese generally, but she loved the food here. We will definitely return.

When writing a review need to be a bit reserved just in case you come across a winery/restaurant such as Fishbone . Words can't describe the pleasure we had wining and dinning at this establishment for lunch . But here goes . Upon arrival you are immediately taken by the modern gardens and building . Stepping inside and you are greeted by friendly staff and clean, fresh decor . We were invited to try the wines while waiting for our table as we were early. The wines were beautiful and helped make our choice for a bottle with lunch ( we chose the Reserve Chardonnay đź‘Ťđź‘Ťđź‘Ť) Once finished we were asked whether we wanted to dine inside or out. We chose out. We ordered shared plates as we do at most restaurants as to experience a broad spectrum of what is on offer . We ordered Gyoza Beef Tataki Sashimi Takoyaki Kimchi The food was spectacular! The service was amazing ! I cannot rave about Fishbone enough . If you don't enjoy the experience I suggest you have a good hard look at yourself .

Visited first week in September. The tables in the restaurant are well spaced, the room is light and airy with views over the vineyard. There are tables outside too but it was a little cool for outside dining the day we visited. The wine was good and the food was delicious. We had a selection from the menu including takoyaki, karaarage chicken, squid salad, deep fried eggplant salad. All the food was beautifully cooked and presented. The service was good, casually efficient. This restaurant is definitely recommended

Had heard great things about this Japanese inspired restaurant and all I can say is WOW. Booked for 1:45pm as we’d had a late breakfast, and arrived so we could do a wine tasting beforehand which was free if you were there for lunch. So glad we did. Found some tasty wines to send home. But, on to the food. It’s designed so that you could order a few dishes to share, like a Asian style tapas. We started with the daily special of chicken and ginger rice balls, and some fiery katsu chicken sushi. These were quite filling. So many wonderful dishes to taste and we finished with a Japanese curry, Katsu chicken for me and panko prawns for my husband. The staff were wonderful with their suggestions and even suggested ordering a few dishes at a time, so that we didn’t over order. This was great advice because our eyes would have been too big for our bellies. We couldn’t even get to the dessert menu, as we were too full. Being a late lunch booking, we had the table for the rest of the afternoon, and the kitchen didn’t close till 3, so there wasn’t any rush. We would definitely recommend this and only regret was that we wouldn’t get to dine here again before leaving the region.

We tried to get in for lunch but the place was packed out (Always a good sign). My wife and I decided to buy a few take away packs of sushi and we certainly did not regret it. Fresh, packed full of seafood, avocado and other goodies, it would have to be some of the best sushi we have ever eaten (and we have been to Japan!).

Make this your lunch stop if you have a few spare hours. Your $60pp lunch starts with a wine tasting of 5 glasses of your choice. Thanks Hayley for being patient with us. Then you move into a lovely restaurant with large glass windows overlooking beautiful green fields. A fixed Japanese style menu is served on pretty platters…each dish is delicious! Teriyaki Wagyu, Salmon sashimi, fried chicken, edamame, etc. Well worth a visit if you are not in a hurry. The huge fish tank is a magnet for kids.

My family had a fabulous lunch to help celebrate my birthday. The space inside the restaurant is very relaxed. Our waitress was very attentive and friendly, the food was fresh and fabulous as was the wines. The kids menu hit the spot, and a lovely touch having colouring on the back of their menu. Thank you for making my birthday lunch special!

Every time we visit down south we stop in at Fishbone. My wife and I have a feast of Sushi while the kids get stuck into the Chicken Curry and Karaage Chicken. The service is outstanding, maybe some of the staff from Eagle Bay could train there. We will always head back, it’s some of the best food we have the pleasure of tasting.

Our visit was a little disappointing because the food didn’t live up to the expectations after reading all the reviews. As this was for my wife’s birthday so we had whittled our choice down to two restaurants, having not eaten at Fishbone we thought we’d try it. The food was ok, it was not bad, but definitely not in the excellent category ! The service was friendly and accommodating but we did have to ask one of the waitresses setting tables that we’d like to order a drink because it had been quite sometime since being seated and nobody had come to take our drinks order. We sat in the Al Fresco area which was pleasant, with views across the paddocks and the neighbouring vineyard. Half way through the meal I said to my wife, we should have gone to the other restaurant in which we’d dined at several times and is located in the same area. She said funny that, because I was thinking just the same thing.
