The "family style" aspect of Louis' Basque Corner was not well-advertised on Yelp, so when we got there we were quite surprised by the long tables and boisterous conversations going on around the wood-paneled room. We decided to go ahead and eat there despite the fact that the ambiance was rather not our preference. We ended up having a fantastic... More

I really wanted to like this place. After all, I had never been to a Basque restaurant before. I am very forgiving of dives, and thought the seating of groups together on long tables by our surly, old waitress was... interesting, but the over-worn plates and cheap utensils did not give way to a delightful meal, even with the carafe... After many decades this restaurant was recently sold by the founding family. The new owners are keeping most of the menu items and have added some new ones. The upstairs was originally the hotel part of the facility, but has been closed for a number of years. The atmosphere is still good, with the antique bar and simple, sturdy tables... More

My good friend needed a great steak so I took him to one of the best places in Reno to eat. Locals try to keep it quiet but the word is out! Basque is family style with always plenty of food for all. A full bar to start us off with pleasant company at a family dining table of other... More

A fun place to dine. Order one of their excellent entres and the whole table shares an aray of sides: beans, bread, salad, soup, wine, potatoes, mussels & rice and dessert. WE all had fun

This was my first time at here, I truly enjoyed the family style dinner with son, daughter and 6 others, it felt strange at first sitting with strangers but that feeling soon disappeared and then felt like a fun family sit down. We started with their Picon Punch, then everyone orders their own entrees. Fresh French bread and white clam... More

We had a group of seven, so we were seated at our own table. It was a great experience with wonderful service. The waiters were personable and made sure we had everything we needed. Food was prepared and served quickly. We ordered a variety of entrees, with two people ordering the non-entree option. The entrees were large enough for sharing.... More

I'm giving 3 stars only because I remember this place being better. This place is very busy - just like my previous visits. Ambiance is fun with communal tables and family style meal sharing. This last visit must have been a really off night for the staff. The good - the staff is energetic and the food came out fast.... More

The first time I ate here was with my parents in the 1950's. Every time since that I have visited Reno I have made an effort to eat here because of the delicious dinners, the variety of offerings, the opportunity to visit with folks from all over and the great ambiance. I don't think you can find another place offering... More

Overall, good food. Big portions, multiple courses, including picon punch (must try). Chicken was memorable, though New York strip was pretty grizzly and undercooked. I'd definitely come back, looks like a hole in the wall from the outside, but good value for sure.
