We discovered this place accidentally when staying at an Airbnb close by. The owners are absolutely lovely and we were thrilled to discover that, while everything else in Norway seems to be closed on Sundays, they have a small bakery (with the best cinnamon rolls...we've had here) open on Sunday mornings and a wonderful restaurant open in the early evenings on Sunday. The food was fantastic! The deer medallions, shrimp cakes and lamb was served 'family style' and were quickly devoured by our party of five. The restaurant, housed in what used to be a barn, was beautiful. Highly recommended!More

This place is about an hour drive from Bergen , including a short trip by ferry (13 min) between Hatvik - Venjaneset . This place is incredibly beautiful; between fjord and mountains. A place carved out for a romantic occasion or family gathering ! The...couple who run the place do everything to make your visit perfect . And when you take your first bite of the salmon mousse , or wild deer meatballs, you realize that you have come to food heaven . The heavenly secret comes from a certain syrup they only make on Eikhaugen: the dandelion syrup . I 've eaten at many resturants in my life, and many of them have served good food , but the hosts , the food , the premises and the stunning setting of Eikhaugen makes me want to come here again.More

Fantastic restaurant in old farmhouse, with great local tasty food and friendly and welcoming hosts. Visiting this place is worthwhile the extra miles if you travel around Bergen and its surroundings.
