My husband and I, along with our dog visited The Star Inn whilst staying in a cottage in the village. We were made to feel very welcome, including the dog! We enjoyed a lovely lunch in what can be described as a traditional old fashioned pub.

Absolutely fantastic. Always hospitable; great service and superb food with a fine range of ales in eclectic surroundings. If you are in the area this is a must.

Fantastic reception from both the landlord and landlady. Very friendly and fabulous food. Bonus when we went back that a brilliant band was playing too. Outstanding pub x

A blazing log burning fire and equally warm, friendly service created a lovely atmosphere at The Star Inn. I ordered the pork belly which was very tasty. My husband had the steak which was rare as he enjoys, however, it came with gravy which was unexpected and distracted from the dish- so ask if you don't wish for gravy with... More

We popped in here recently before going to a cottage we had rented in the village. We had a very warm welcome from both the locals/regulars and landlord, who had our sense of humour. The pie was delicious and the whole atmosphere was very jolly. We liked it a lot. We had planned to return on the Sunday afternoon to... More

We visited this pub for an ad hoc meal out. The atmosphere was pleasant and the welcome genuine and friendly. The food was simple but of good quality and the portions were very generous. The meals also offered very good value for money. If we are back in the area we will return.

We stopped at this pub whilst staying locally. Rather grubby. A lot of the Furniture in the bar was broken. Toilets grim. Landlord was curt. Most certainly wouldn't recommend. Oh and the coffee was dreadful.

Great dinner with my partner and our 3 children. Accommodating with the children and our meals were fantastic. I had the venison stew, Mark had slow roasted pork belly. Good value for very good food. Would go back if in the area.

We ate here one evening whilst staying in the area. The pub is welcoming with a good menu which included 'specials' of the day. My husband choose sausage & mash which he said was very tasty and I chose salmon fishcakes (plural) - and only one arrived. It was very nice but I was left wondering if it should have... More
