Great little place for a unique dining experience. Great breakfast, lunch and super meals. Homecooking lots made from scratch. Know the owner he's been making great meals for 30+ years. Make sure and order homemade pork tenderloin sandwich they are the best or and fresh cut fries! It's a little out of the way but worth looking for.

On the last day of our trip we had breakfast at Mel's Diner Hollywood. It was to be our last meal in the USA before heading back to Australia. Even though it was some what expensive $75USD for 2 Adults & 2 Kids. This was including tax we felt it would be well worth it after having ok meal there... More

Service was great and was impressed with the food. The waitress was informative and if she didn't know an answer she found it out for us. My son debated on the chicken tender basket or dinner and so glad we went with the basket... was just right serving for him. I got the ham and soup and my goodness it... More

Worse meal ever. The chic. fried stk. was tasteless, small and tough, and full of grizzle. Eggs were cold, pancakes cold, Mel's famous potatoes weren't cooked. was bad service, sat us in back and forgot we were even there, for about 15 or so minutes. Will never patronize this place ever. what a rip-off.

After reading the reviews, I decided to try Mels Diner when traveling through Fremont, Nebraska. Ick. The waitresses were friendly and helpful to the truck drivers from the truck stop next door, but I sat at my table, ignored for over 5 minutes before the hostess came to ask me what I wanted to drink. I ordered the roast beef... More

Good food and a lot of it. If you like biscuits and gravy, Mel's Diner is the place to go. Huge biscuit and lots of good gravy.

Huge handmade tenderloins and handcut french fries make this a great stop. Their chicken salad is also very good. They serve breakfast all day. Their pies and cakes are homemade too. It looks like a 50's diner inside and out.

Cute interior and food was good, but certainly nothing special. Salad was iceberg lettuce and servings were large. Prices were reasonable and food was solid, but nothing extraordinary.

We ate breakfast at Mel's Diner before resuming our way home after a disappointing weekend of auto racing; however, Mel's Diner was anything but a disappointment! Housed in a charming railroad car clad in bright aluminum with lots of '50's nostalgia, this little place offers up home cooking as good as my grandmother's! And it will not break the bank... More

If you've ever had tough gizzards you will know where I am coming from when I tell you that this place has the best and I do mean the best gizzards around. They are so tender you can cut them with a fork, if you even need a fork. There chicken fried steak dinner is so hugh it fills the... More
