The two best things about the Butchers Nook are the extremely friendly staff and the fresh meats. Everything from the Buffalo Cheese Burger to the Reuben sandwich to the Golden Fries are all home made. Even the buns and bread are home made. Prices are reasonable and there's always local artwork on the walls.

Very clean nice place, I believe it is run by the Amish or Hooterites, excellent food, and it is a real Butcher shop.

The only reason we drove through Plains, MT., was because friends recommended that we go in search of the Butcher's Nook. We arrived around lunch time and there was a line-up out the front door (which is usually a very good sign!). A bakery/pastry display and fresh meat display made our mouths water. After waiting nearly 20 minutes to make... More

We had breakfast here because it looked like Heather's wasn't open for breakfast. It was good. You order at the bakery/meat counter and then sit at the table and they bring your food. We had scrambled eggs and bacon and one had french toast. It was all very good and the service was excellent. We also bought a loaf of... More

Every time I have the chance to eat breakfast at the "Nook it is like eating a great home cooked meal and I don't have to clean up the dishes. They make great cinnamon and caramel rolls, also.

You know this is a good diner by the number of pickups out front. Popular with locals, the food and meats are excellent.

We had lunch at this location and thoroughly enjoyed the friendliness of the staff and the food! Get the Buffalo Burger - it's a must have.
