Always a great place to eat. Food is homemade and fresh. Great place to take students. Staff is always accommodating to our groups. Wouldn't visit Butte without eating a pasty at Joes.

Someone we encountered in Billings explained that to know Butte, we had to get a pasty, and Joe's was the place to do it. Arriving in town at lunchtime, it was the right choice. Joe's is a longstanding establishment in a modest structure on the edge of the city center. The decor is plain Americana diner with some interesting Montana-related... More

Best egg salad sandwich I've ever had. Locals seem to love this simple yet clean restaurant and I can see why. S bit disappointed no but vegetarian pastys on the menu but grilled cheese and egg salad sandwich excellent. Business for sale so unsure how long open.

Other than the pasties I make myself at home, the last time I had one was in Brighton, England, last October. I have to take my hat off to the Cornish tin miners who brought pasties to Butte in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The pasty has to be one of the world's most perfect foods. I got... More

Locals have liked their standard and miniature pasties for parties for a long time and are a favorite of a lot of people in our city......

Stopped here at my sons suggestion it had been on Man vs Food and we were passing through. It had been advertised as home cooking. I love home cooked meals :) Unfortunately the pasty may have been hand made, but the potatoes inside were canned, gravy powdered sysco products and the chili also a canned product. Basically just highly processed... More

We were told that Joe's was a "must stop" place as we were passing through. It was like stepping back in time - a slice of old Butte. A quirky spot with a certain charm. Pleasant service and generous portions. We tried the pasty with gravy which was hearty and filling. Glad we stopped and I would visit again.

This place is very small and crowded. The pasty had too much dough on the bottom and was very dry inside. We did pay extra for the gravy which was good and helped some. It is inexpensive and 1 could be shared by 2. We each had half left, but threw it out later. Friendly staff. We would not recommend... More

A great place for an actual tourist to try them for the 1st time. Or, for anyone who wants to have a good dinner. 95% of people that are living in Butte don't have AC so there are no oven dinners made on those 90+ days!!

If you like pasties, this is the place. We all had one pasty with gravy. The were very good. I will stop here the next time I am in Butte.
