Tao New Asian has a very extensive menu and I was a little apprehensive. From Chinese to Thai we were not disappointed. The calamari appetizer was fantastic but the spring rolls were lacking. The spring rolls were just a basic bag of salad with a mint spring added and wrapped up. The potstickers were done perfectly. Opted for the salmon... More

On a back side of a busy street, hides a very good Asian restaurant in Billings, MT. If the hot and sour soup is good, you know you have found a great Oriental dining experience and Tao has a great soup. Being venturesome, I had the seafood special in cattle country. I was not disappointed. Crisp veggies in lobster sauce,... More

I've eaten at Tao countless times and have never had a bad meal. Tasty sushi, hot and crispy egg rolls, and some of the best Yaki Udon I've had the pleasure to consume. Service has always been good, and the decor is refined and restful. Looking forward to my next lunch at Tao.

The menu was quite extensive. You can go in a number of different directions... Chinese, Japanese, Thai, Korean... etc... We enjoyed the sushi which was very fresh. For appetizers we had the Coconut Shrimp (which were highly-recommended by our group), the Calamari (which was very good), the Chicken Satay (chicken was moist and juicy which sometimes is not the case... I found this place on Trip Advisor. Chose it because it is highly rated and was near our location. THe menu and details are available on-line, which I found helpful. We did a to-go order and already knew what we wanted, thanks to the on-line menu. We had the Hawaiian roll, shrimp fried rice and General Chicken. All were fantastic!... More

I've raved about this little place in the past, but last night we (especially my husband) were disappointed. He ordered the special, a tea-infused crispy duck. It was so overdone and mealy that he could barely eat it. He expects duck to be medium to rare, and probably should have asked when he ordered, but it was really not good.... More

This was a very oddly chic place. The decor is modern & very nice but made everything you said echo & sound loud. We are a jovial bunch & we were afraid to really laugh & enjoy ourselves. When we did I felt like we were in church or something. The waiter was nice albeit super serious. The food was... More

Just got home from eating at Tao. It was even better than last time which was about 6 months ago. (we don't eat out often in Billings) I am celiac so it was a welcome change from last time to find out that Chef Chen could make almost all the dishes on the very large menu gluten free. I ordered... Not good. The Sunset roll at a whopping $19 was fishy tasting and the gristly salmon was very light pink. It did not appear or taste fresh. The Szechuan Chicken was overwhelmed with too much sauce. Other than a little heat there was not much flavor other than an odd off taste I can't put my finger on. They were... More
