Best fish and chips in a long while and great homemade tartare sauce. Washed down with a perfect pint of Surrey Hills Ranmore.

Went in for lunch- had a fantastic lunch in the garden. Freshly cooked venison steak was superb. Great 'Typical' English Pub experience.

The manager of this pub has changed since I was last there and the improvements are noticeable. The last time I went for a lunch the burger was not pleasant and vastly over salted. The burger this time was cooked to perfection, the chips were great and the general presentation of the food has improved greatly. Interesting selection of beers... More

Disappointing Lunch, Husband ordered the sausage roll and salad, 3 pieces of 1cm thick offering arrived and my cheese baguette was uninspirational. Thought we would give it a go, but we will be back to our normal haunt The Holly Bush at Frensham, where the food is excellent.

On short notice we got a promise of a table in the bar but on arrival we were lucky to get one in the restaurant itself. It is small but so nice. The lady of the house welcomed us and throughout the evening made time to chat to us, although it was busy. The food was fresh, well cooked and... More

Had supper here for the first time at the weekend and was pleasantly surprised. Great service and the best chips I've had for a very long time! Very generous portions and good choice of menu. Place was packed and I'm not surprised. I will be back.

We went for the fixed price special Valentine dinner, ended up being readily accommodated to sit with friends and had a really fabulous evening. The special menu exceeded all our expectations and every course was delicious, and it was good value for money. The service was great, the ambience too with lots of candle light. The food and whole establishment... More

The barley mow is transformed. Good beer, good food but most importantly great service. Trust me go to the holly bush at your peril. You will be met with a wave of negativity and incompetence from a bunch of surly teenagers. And God help you if you meet the owner Sally.

Set in the heart of Surrey over looking an English Cricket Green with a super River running through. You are welcomed into a super old pub serving superb food with an equal service. A must go to place.

An English pub as an English pub should be, opposite the village green. A good menu with a varied choice. We had to book as always busy. We were not rushed anytime we were there, this makes an enjoyable couple of hours. The staff were very friendly even making a meal up that wasn't on the menu... reasonably priced and... More
