I will start by saying that this was our first visit to this restaurant. We went for a Valentine's dinner. The restaurant has charm since it is inside a building that was built back in the early 1900s. The service was a little slow to start but I believe that is because the waiter we had was given a bunch... More

If it is a romantic atmosphere you want, well, this is the place to go. We dined here for our wedding anniversary. The charm of the building captures you when you enter. The food is just tantalizing. We had German potato pancakes for an appetizer. They were truly rich in flavor. Our next course was black bean soup. It was... More

This was my first visit to the restaurant. I'd heard much about the old place. The history stems back to when Anheuser Busch built the establishment, as one of many, to sell their beer. The host/hostess were very gracious and accommodating. Seemed there were not enough wait staff on the floor. This was a Sunday buffet environment, every chair was... More

We recently visited on a Saturday night and sadly the only customers. Owners have lovingly restored this 100+ year old building and the food very good. It's a shame the location seems to be the problem with the lack of other customers. We thoroughly enjoyed the meal and conversation with owners and server.

I loved the experience at Feasting Fox last Sunday for brunch. There was not a gigantic sprawling buffet with tons of food but a smart, tasteful, varied, healthy and delicious array of savory and sweet selections prepared fresh and tasty. I loved the combination of old classics (pickled vegetables and beets, saurkraut) and fresh items like salad, amazingly prepared vegetables... More

It has become a family tradition to have dinner on Christmas Eve at the Feasting Fox. It is decorated beautifully. The German food is superb. And they have live guitar music. The restaurant is great anytime of the year, but on Christmas Eve it soars beyond great! Reservations are strongly recommended on this special night.

The Feasting Fox is an outstanding old South Side restaurant. A place to go for "unbelievable" food! We have been there twice and found it to be incredible for the food as well as the atmosphere. In fact I don't which is better. This place is like eating in a 19th century German Hotel and decorated accordingly. Truly a marvelous... More

We went to this restaurant for our annual Christmas dinner. The restaurant was less decorated than usual and they only had 1 waiter working, thus it was a 2 hour experience. The cheese puff appetizers and pretzels were terrific as was the bean soup, but the sweet and sour pork lacked a nice presentation, was too small of a portion,... More

We visit a friend in the area twice a year. In July we stumbled across this place. Like the previous reviewer we wandered around the outside trying to figure out how to get inside. Once inside we also must have had the same waiter. He was very nice and made the experience even better. Funny to learn he was a... More
