Wasn't sure with all the bad reviews, but gave it a shot. The crab Rangoon was great, the Thai tea could have been sweeter for me, but was good, the Tom Ka soup was the best I've had since my mother in laws, and the Pad Sew See was delicious...plus the seats are too cute ;) Will definitely go back... I wasn't too hungry when I stopped here, and from seeing the reviews later--that must have been a good thing. Their Tom Yum (with chicken) soup was very good--flavorful with a plentiful amount of chicken and mushrooms, but the spring roll appetizer was mediocre at best. They fell apart easily and hardly contained any shrimp. I was the only person... More

The facilities are run down and were hot on a summer day; service was terrible (only one server working on the 4th of July), and food was average. They got my order wrong, and made no attempt to rectify the problem. I would pass on this restaurant ... there are too many other good places to try along The Loop.

My wife and I went here for a quick dinner last night in between two films at The Tivoli, which is a few blocks away on Delmar. She ordered a vegetarian Pad Ped, which arrived quickly, was spiced as per her request (Thai hot), and was apparently quite tasty. I ordered a Massaman curry, which is one of the classic... More

Went with great expectations...returned disapointed. The menu was limited to chicken and veggies...no item in fish which is most unusual for a Thai Cafe. The shrimp came for an additional amount ! The house salad was a small serving of lettuce, neglible onion strips, carrot strips, and little pieces of tomatoes. The batter fried calamari was very very low on... More

Good attentive service, but the food seems to be an afterthought. It seems as if they can't remember their own recipes and cook the same dishes consistently. Too bad. I used to eat there every week.

I used to love Thai Gai Yang. Went back last night and was served literally inedible food. It smelled like cat p/ss. My dinner partner theorized that they used bad fish sauce. Could not go back to try again even if I wanted to--my stomach would rebel.
