Interesting place to explore...great soups and milkshakes (regular or "adult"). Not a huge menu but everything we tried was very good.

The atmosphere is very urban in a good way. The service is excellent. The prices are reasonable. Best of all, the food is fabulous. The ice cream combinations are ingenious.

I went for lunch for the first time with a colleague, and was it a treat. The drink and dessert menus are unbelievable, but since it was a business meeting we opted for just plain food. It certainly wasn't plain and the place was jumping. The only down side I have to offer is that there is no good waiting... More

I can't say enough good things about The Fountain on Locust. The food is so expertly prepared. The Gypsy Soup was terrific with amazing flavors in it. My ravioli was so unusual and delicious. The marinara sauce on them was true perfection. The coconut almond joy sundae I had for dessert is one of my favorite desserts. It is heavenly.

Always great food and service. Amazing decor and comfortable dining. They have many delicious gluten free options, but I love to go there for just dessert. Their menu changes, of course, but never the quality. Soups are fantastic and they have many unique salads and entrees. (I miss the green been salad~!) They tend to fill up, but worth the... More

Have been wanting to visit this place for quite a while. It was worth the wait...so good. They have taken a car showroom and turned it into an Art Deco Soda fountain and lunch spot. Lunch items are not your ordinary menu items. Their specialty is a salad sandwich. Then they have wonderful concoctions to choose from. I recommend something... More

I visited the Fountain with family members during a recent trip to St. Louis. I absolutely loved the atmosphere. The decor reminds you of a much earlier (and different) time in America. I can't tell you for sure the exact era they seem to be replicating, but I would guess it's the 30's. I believe the style is referred to... More

Went to The Fountain with a group from work. I had the dill pickle soup and egg salad sandwich with pineapple upside down cake and coconut ice cream for dessert. Service was good and we waited a reasonable amount of time for our food. The dill pickle soup is a soup with a potato base with dill pickles. Apparently that's... More

I love going to the Fountain because of their ice cream martinis (get one during happy hour). The other ice cream dishes are also excellent. It's very good quality ice cream. The food is good, but nothing special. It's the ice cream that makes this a worthwhile place.

Came for an early dinner before a college ball game and it was such an enticing menu we came back for dessert after the game!! Excellent meatball sub and even better ice cream martinis. Will be back! Would have given a 5 rating if the seating was more comfortable.
