My husband and I the Kentucky Burgers which were great. The coffee is good too. Deb and Rod are very friendly. They have a range of locally made gifts for sale. The cafe is spotlessly clean.

Great place to stop and fill up the car and grab some drinks and snacks when on the road. Not much to do in Kentucky apart from the distillery but its good to support the locals when you can.

I have dropped into this store about 4 times now and I always seem to get excited before I pull up there,I have never eaten there though it always seems to have a couple eating, I love the feel of the store, I have bought...beer there to take home and once petrol and a couple of lollies for the kids, if your in Kentucky then stick your head in ,I feel its a lovely little country store, worth a lookMore

Kentucky is a tiny village a few km off the New England Highway, between Armidale and Tamworth. The turn-off is not all well signposted and without knowing about it, you can very easily drive straight past. Luckily, some locals in Armidale told me about the...Kentucky General Store, which serve meals (takeaways as well as sit-down) as well as operating as the local grocery store, gas station, bottle shop and PO. The store has a quaint (if a bit cluttered) dining room and service is friendly. Quite a good range of options on the menu, including pizza: I had the chicken-schnitzel burger, which was huge. My coffee (flat white) also passed muster. You wouldn't call the food sophisticated - fair enough given the location - but prices are very reasonable and servings generous. Meals are also a little slow to arrive at the table. If you are in a mad rush to get somewhere you are probably better off driving through to one of the fast-food places in Armidale. Otherwise, set the GPS for Kentucky.More

Out in the middle of nowhere and not looking much on the outside is a charming cafe with the best nachos I've had in years. You head in not expecting much and there is this cosy nook with a warm fire just waiting for you....Nice menu and a welcome oasis from our days driving. Great host and oodles of country charm and hospitality. Head off the highway to experience good country charm.More

Great coffee, tasty toasted sandwiches and friendly interesting information was meted out by the owners, Rob and Deb McGrath. Having been to Texas, Qld we could not go past Kentucky, NSW without visiting this village. We were not sorry we made the effort.

I stopped off in Kentucky on my way to Armidale. I was a little hesitate at first ordering a coffee but my Cap was made wonderfully. The store is very cosy and the lovely gentleman that served me told me all about the area and...what to see and do. I had a wonderful stop, i love the attitudes and friendliness of country folk. Will be back. :)More

I just had time for a quick stop here but I went into the store and got some provisions for the road - the store is nice, quaint in a NSW way and the lady who served me was friendly and willing to talk about...the area.More

Plus plenty more to choose from ...friendly owner. Opened up the hall next door so I could read about the history of Kentucky while my locally sourced steak cooked. Bell, the cafe doggie kept me company. Only 4 km off the highway south of Uralla....Definitely worth the detour.More
