Cafe Tempo is a main street cafe open from 7am till 4pm 7 days a week. We serve a wide range of quiches, filo pies, tarts, slices, muffins, scones, biscuits, supersized sandwiches made to order, plus a full breakfast and lunch menu. Our Cosmo Coffee is devine plus we have a full range of cold drinks, milkshakes, iced coffees and iced chocolate plus much more. Oh, and the service is just great. We are the cafe where "The Laughter Is FREE".

When we travel to a new place we always look for where the locals go for coffee and light meals. Cafe Tempo is that place. Only small but properly run with friendly staff, quick service, excellent coffee and tasty range of food served attractively. So, good for a quick break, early food and even though always busy a quiet cuppa (Norfolk is not a noisy place so you can relax and enjoy) We visited a few times and got the same good service every time so highly recommended.

Great little place for a coffee. NIce frittata lunch. Gluten Free cake for hubby and various milks available. Again, the service can be a little slow but very friendlyand we went there several times as it was smaller and not as noisy and busy as the Olive

What a wonderfully kept Cafe full of quirky charm. The owners and the lady making the coffee are happy to chat and treat you like one if the family.
As this is a family run business care is taken to prepare your order with a perfection not normally seen in cafes.
ALL cakes are home baked by the owners and on certain days rice-paper rolls plus other goodies are available.
So be patient and be ready to have your taste buds tantalised.

Cafe Tempo advertises Gluten Free. This was not our experience. A GF zucchini slice was offered (only one GF option in the cafe) . Asked the cafe if it was Gluten Free, they responded "No"(yet GF was on the sign). Went back a few more times to the cafe yet each time there was no GF option.

My wife and I enjoyed several visits to Tempo Cafe during our 7 day stay on Norfolk. We had fresh made sandwiches, delicious coconut pie, coffee and chai all served with a smile by friendly staff. A popular cafe with good prices.

Wonderful food, great coffee, lovely staff. What more could you want. Substantial, excellently prepared breakfasts, and lovely light lunches are their specialty. The locals really frequent Cafe Tempo, which says a lot about the place. Even the sparrows give Tempo a tick of approval as the photo shows.

I loved this place for homemade fresh made to order food. The staff were friendly too. I kept going back for just a plain ham cheese salad roll which was very good. Nice food in cabinet, sweet and savoury, if you're on the go. Coffee great and they have soy milk.

We visited here for lunch, and another day for coffee. Is is central with indoor and outdoor seating. The service is great and the food and coffee delicious. We also found it to be the cheapest place in town. Definitely worth a visit for breakfast, coffee or lunch.

A great little spot in Burnt Pine, I enjoyed Fruit Toast with honey, the coffee is good too.
Sit outside and enjoy chatting with the locals.

Lovely little Cafe. Friendly staff, the coffee was good, and the citrus slice yummy. It was great to be able to sit outside in the sunshine to enjoy my cuppa and slice.

We stayed for 9 nights in Nov 2022 & found this to be our fave coffee shop (we also tried Seriously Chocolate, Enitaim & Olive) The coffee was good & everything we ate from slices, cakes, toasted sandwiches & fresh buns & sandwiches was always yummy. We always sat in & enjoyed the clean laidback space.

Went to visit for lunch but unfortunately this cafe closes at 1pm. These opening hours seem rather early and somewhat inconvenient for a breakfast / lunch cafe, particularly considering that Norfolk Island’s primary trade is tourism.
