I had the pleasure of living in Kansas City for three years and spent at least one Tuesday each month at Zocalo. They have amazing taco Tuesday deals, especially their lobster tacos! I have celiac and they were able to accommodate numerous menu items so I could enjoy them! Awesome guac, queso, margaritas, etc... if you're hungry and looking for... More

We walked into this restaurant and completely floored by the food. My colleague had Mussels and I had vegetarian specialty food. Food was simply amazing and delicious, we barely spoke during the dinner and to add to it the "Terrorized carrots" were yummy to start with

We ate in the lounge and for relatively little money fairly stuffed ourselves. The empanadas and Mahi-Mahi tacos were great and the beers "dangerously cold." Outstanding, unobtrusive service.

Have had brunch there twice in the past month. First time the food and service was great. Second time the food was OK, but not as good as the first time and the service from the kitchen was bad. We had 8 people in our group and we got served in 3 different shifts, over 30 minutes. the first group... More

We had a good time at Zocalo. It has very modern decor. I ordered a traditional margarita that was very tasty. We started with a cup of soup of chili Verde. It was very delicious. For entrees my husband had the empanadas. This is sort of like a Mexican meat pie. He loved it. I had the enchiladas. They were... More

Zocalo is an upscale Mexican place in an upscale neighborhood. The food in US Mexican restaurants is generally a massive disappointment ... who knows what TexMex is, but it is not very original or exciting as a cuisine. Zocalo breaks out of that mold... several of their dishes are quite excellent as US-based echoes of real Mexican cuisine. In particular,... More

We dined here with some friends and had a great time, the food didn't blow me away but it was good and moderately priced. We would go again.

The menu presents as Tex.Mex with a twist. It's fair to say that was accurate. The primary issues were the really weak Margaritas (so weak I thought they might have forgotten the tequila), the very odd chili- a bean puree with ONE detectable piece of meat in the entire bowl- and that every dish on our table was very heavy... I called in to this restaurant to kill some time after my meetings in KC today. Situated in the Plaza area, brightly lit for the Christmas season, I could not have stumbled on a nicer gem. Happy hour meant food and drink was discounted, and from the prices I paid I am not sure how they make money. Notwithstanding, the... More

This was a great stop for us. We came in on a Sunday brunch and had some great food. The club was put together freshly with all ingredients cut from the original plant. The chicken was grilled to perfection. The price was cheap and it was a really great lunch. Really enjoyed it and will be coming back for mamosas
