We were told by our B&B hosts to try the scallop pies here, it seems people cue for them first thing in the morning when the bakery opens. Now this is just my opinion, but a deserved one, given that I have had a scallop pie every day for the last 6 days, in many different bakeries and cafes all... More

After looking around town for somewhere to eat the bakery was our best option, We choose a variety of steak pies & also tried the scallop pie among us too. Great yummy pies with crispy pasty, the scallop pie was interesting & went down well. There are many cakes & slices to choose from which are yummy & fresh. Prices... More

While visiting Hobart City we travelled to Richmond, mainly to see the oldest bridge in OZ, we had coffee and cakes here, great setting, but was disappointed on the quality of coffee and cakes did not appear fresh.

Stopped in for cake and a cup of tea. Quality was excellent and the price ok. We managed to get a seat as it was outside peak time, but expect big queues at busy times.

Richmond is a special ‘must-visit’ place. Not only does it have the oldest bridge in Australia, the oldest Catholic church and gorgeous heritage sandstone buildings in an idyllic setting in the Coal river Valley but it has an excellent bakery, where you can relax after wandering around the town. The Richmond Bakery and Café on Bridge Street is open 7... More

We got to richmond late and only this place was open. Otherwise its not worth eating at. The food quality is average and their service is ordinary. I was warned by friends in hobart to avoid this place and for good reason. You only see first time tourists stop by.

The summer lunch time crowd was very busy & meant a long wait in line. However, the wait was worth it for a delicious fresh sandwich & pie.

Went to this bakery for a scallop pie and so did 500 other people Queuing up to be served was a bit disorganised at first, then I realised the reason why we had a trainee on the cash register , so no problems there Plenty of yummy food to chose from, and all the typical things you would expect from... A welcomed stop for a coffee and a quick bite. Watch the bakers at work while you enjoy the fruits of their labour, and a coffee all in a nice shady area with public toilets close by

Thank Clinton P
