We held a party for our 12 year old here with her friends. I wouldn’t recommend it for younger children, but 12 was definitely a sweet spot. The kids had a great time with lots of delicious sandwiches, cakes, scones and drinks! Great staff too!...Really accomodating to a last minute change and I can’t thank them enough for their willingness to make sure everything was perfect! Well done! I can’t recommend this quaint place for high tea highly enough!More

Hi Tea in a gorgeous room decorated with tea cups, tea pots and figurines. Cathy, our host was able to adapt to our dietary needs with flexibility, kindness and warmth. The afternoon tea was delicious, filling with as much tea and coffee as you please....Three tiers of delights. The atmosphere on a winter's day was warm with music in the background that allowed conversation with those you love. Book early and specify your dietary requirements in full, to make the most of a real treat.More

Fabulous experience. Beautiful food, with a typical assortment of warm food, ribbon sandwiches, scones and small cakes. I understand all food is made onsite. The finery of the table setting and beautiful crokery was simply beautiful. Most welcoming and attentive staff.

We had a wonderful visit to Highgate today for our high tea. The service is so good. Run by Cathy, all the staff are so friendly and helpful. The food was delicious and we were spoilt for choice! So much food! Such Great value for...money and bottomless tea and coffee. At the end we were given containers to take the left overs home. High tea at Highgate is such a lovely place. I recently received a birthday gift for high tea at High Gate and it was superb. Everything about the devor was reminiscent of an old English tea room. The staff were so friendly and accommodating and showed an interest in every guest. The food was...delicious and there was a feast with everything home made. Freshly brewed tea just kept coming. I have attended several big city hotels for high tea but this was the best. I along with others celebrating a birthday received a very pretty coat hanger along with a birthday cupcake. Highly recommendMore

I took my mother here for her birthday last weekend and everything about it was perfect. From the beautiful furniture and crockery to the fantastic personal service from Cathy and of course, the food, which was 10/10. Neither my mother nor myself had ever had...High Tea before and Cathy has set the bar so high that I’m loathe to even bother trying anywhere else, I’ll just come back here. Thanks for the special morning Cathy.More

I decided to treat my Auntie to high tea and booked High gate. What a great experience. My Auntie was thrilled with the beautifully decorated room and kept commenting on the display. Then the 3 tiered stands came out and her eyes were filled with...joy, she couldn't contain her excitement. I cannot fault High Gate, the food was delicious, the host was fantastic and made us all feel welcome. Thank you Cathy for your hospitality it really made for a lovely Sunday morning.More

I am not usually a fan of High Tea functions but Highgate certainly changed my mind. From the moment you entered their 'olde worlde' venue you were treated as special & your happiness & comfort were important. The food was all home made, fresh and...abundant. Add to this, at the end of the meal, several containers were provided to take the remaining food home. The service and attention to detail was excellent but subtle & non invasive. The staff were friendly and obliging. The tables were not crowded together nor was the seating at the table. Good value for money and l highly recommend Highgate for that special occassion.More

We had our social group xmas party at High Gate and were very impressed with the service, ambience and value. Cathy and her staff were very welcoming and accommodating with individual dietary requirements. Nothing we asked was too much for them. If you are looking...for a traditional High Tea served on fine china in a lovely Federation style house, look no further than Highgate. Compared to other venues in Melbourne offering hightea, Highgate by far, offers the best value. Loads of food and tea and no hidden extras. We will definitely go again.More

We went for my mother-in-law’s birthday. Cathy was very hospitable and the food was plentiful and very yummy. We walked around the place for a bit after eating some food and came back for the rest. There are plenty of photo ops around the place...with a little pier. It was a really good relaxing day.More

It was time to celebrate our wedding anniversary so following on from recommendations from a couple of friends decided to try high tea at Highgate. Surrounding are quite pleasant and we were met at the door by our very friendly host Cathy who had us...seated in a nice window seat overlooking the gardens. Very quaint rooms with a lot of memorabilia around the room. On this particular occasion we were in the company of a dozen women at another table who were quite boisterous which made it hard to hear what was on offer although it didn't need much to work out that the offering was quite pleasant to say the least. Cathy and staff kept us well served with plenty of fresh brewed tea and the food itself was very good. It didn't look like much initially but by the time we got to the scones on top we were beginning to struggle a bit. Which is good. Would definitelt recommend to others who may be considering.More
