Called on spec on a return journey from Nantwich, although we hadn't booked we were some found a able and were informed it would be about 10 minutes before we could collect our food from the carvery. This initially surprised me as a carvery is a carvery. Ten minutes later we were invited to go to the carvery, and all... More

We found the Chetwode on the way back from a country walk. The pub area is quite comfortable (and allows dogs). The restaurant is extremely spacious with plenty of tables outside. We arrived at about 2pm yesterday and there was plenty of room and we opted for a table in the bar area. Excellent choice from the menu and it... More

Group of six of us visited for the first time on Saturday night. Very pleasantly surprised. Had a great evening at a lovely pub. Cannot complain about the food one little bit. Chips especially were how chips should be cooked. Service was warm and friendly. Maybe the menu could be a little more extensive but there is enough to cater... More

I really rate this place. I am a total foodie and love nothing more than finding a good local pub that is serving high quality food at decent prices but are, more importantly, consistently doing so, something we are lacking in the Staffordshire area. In the past three months I have visited 7 times for evening meals and the carvery... More

Log fires are very welcoming on a cold wet winter night, the establishment has a bar that is nice for a pint and I notice that dogs are admitted to that bar. Food is well cooked staff are pleasant and helpful but service could be slow if the pub was busy.

The pork and vegetable stew was delicious but let down by burned potatoes and blackened chips cooked in old carbonated fat. Dessert menu a little uninspired too but what we had was ok. The quiche was soggy no doubt from being heated in a microwave rather than in an oven to crisp the pastry.

We have visited here several times, and have never been disappointed. There is a very good selection of food ranging from a Sunday Carvery or a wide choice off the Specials & standard Menu. Food is excellent served by very pleasant staff. The steak is especially good and served with salad or vegetables and home made chips which is quite... More

I'd been wanting to go here for a long time but wished I'd never bothered. The young lady who served us was great to be fair but her male colleague was not. I ordered soup as a starter and it was awful. Jellified almost like baby food. My partner's starter was not very hot. When the main came the mash... More
