What has happened to this place? I'm a little disappointed tbh. When Sicily Mare first opened I couldn't rave about it enough. But on the last several occasions I have visited, it has been very average (with one visit being an exception). The last visit...didn't even reach "average", I am saddened to say, with both of the dishes we ordered being pretty poor. I do wonder if the cost of living crisis is playing a role here though, as they probably don't want to increase their prices (people are already staying home to eat), so they put less of the pricier ingredients on (not much cheese going onto those pizzas), whilst "filling the gaps" with cheaper ingredients - for example, my last pizza seemed like it was mostly tomato paste. If this is the reason, I can understand this, but it doesn't help the food taste any better. I hope things will return to the way they were at some stage. Because I know how fantastic this place can be when they're on their game.More
