Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My daughter and I met here for an early dinner at 5 p.m. before I was due to meet a friend for a drink in Beaufort Street at six before an event at the Astor. I’m not saying we were tight on time but initial...impressions were not good when we waited for almost ten minutes until one of the staff mucking around in the bar/kitchen areas decided to come over and check our booking. There were no other customers we could see at that point. So not a great start but the place redeemed itself after that by serving some of the best food I have had in a long time. I love Beef Wellington so when our server told us that was the chef’s special I persuaded my daughter to share this since that’s usually how the dish is done in restaurants i.e. they rarely serve individual portions (although any place that did would get my custom). We accompanied this with chips and aioli (OK) and asparagus with a harissa sauce (excellent). The Wellington was one of the best I have ever had - just fabulous. If we had a bit more time I could probably have wolfed down the lot but I have promised my daughter she can have the lamb she wanted when we go back, which we definitely will.More

Four of us. Not one (very overcooked) dish arrived at the same time. An entree at a time for four, one main at a time. 20min gap. Carrots congealed for 20mins whilst waiting for a main. Glass of red arrived after waygu. Shouldn’t be this...hard. Only plus was bottle of the Laurent Perrier. We won’t be back.More

Visited with friends who had recommended the place. What a delightful place. The food was top quality, fresh ingredients, lovely surroundings and great service. The avocado with feta and heirloom tomatoes was amazing. The omelette with the swimmer crab was delicious as were the eggs...on toast, perfectly cooked. Would highly recommend and will be visiting again for dinner.More

Recently had our work Christmas party at the old laundry. It's a great venue with plenty of space for 80+ people. The food was delicious with a variety for everyone's dietary needs. Staff were friendly. Music playlist that we listened to towards the end of...the was awesome. Relaxed casual atmosphere. Will be going back for lunch 😋More

A great little people watching spot from an outside table on Angove Street. Tasty and substantial breakfast with great cappuccinos. It’s worthwhile taking some time to explore the old machinery, housed out the back of the building, which gives the restaurant its name.

On a public holiday it is hard to find somewhere to catch a coffee and friend chat but we stimbled over the Laundry and although we had to sit on bar stools first( AND WE ARE ALL SENIORS) we eventually moved to a table and...enjoyed a nice brunch We chose Simple food but it was tasty and coffee was good too - and the best part they were open when dozens of others weren't !!!!More

The process of booking for a large group was very easy and there was no stress when our numbers changed. The setting was relaxed and comfortable and the noise level perfect. We were able to order a la carte and the food was very good...and served well given that we had a large number of different dishes The drinks list was very reasonable and glasses were changed when we moved from white to red wineMore

We had a family catch up - none had been to this restaurant previously, it was selected as it was just about the only place open on a Monday night. Service staff were excellent and friendly - waters and drinks served promptly. Meal orders taken...and staff had good understanding of the food on offer when asked questions. Meals were very nice, on the whole a lovely eveningMore

This is our favourite place to eat! We have been here several times for lunch and dinner, and each time we have found a new and different delicious thing to try on the menu. We tend to go tapas-style and get lots of dishes to...share. There's something for everyone..but do not leave without trying the Korean chicken!! This place delivers both on food and service- SUCH friendly and happy staff who are always happy to advise and recommend dishes, wines, check allergies etc.) Lovely relaxed atmosphere in a tasteful, comfortable setting. Oh, and amazing cocktails and wine menu to boot..We are addicted to the place!More

Havent had a dinner here in a while, but the coffee window was a staple on the dog walks during Covid and I always thoroughly enjoy the breakfasts or casual solo lunches. Always something of interest with a twist on the menu.

Came on a Friday for dinner. The food was delicious. Went for a few share plates and a larger, pasta dish. The cauliflower is amazing and the Korean chicken is very good. The home made pasta was cooked very well.
