The person taking our order was very unpleasant. The food was horrible. We will not be going back. The food was prepared and served quickly, but after one taste, neither of us wanted to eat it.

So this was recommended to me highly by a relative. It's pretty good for a suburban restaurant providing Asian food. The owners take a lot of pride in their homemade products. It's a family-run business and the restaurant is sparsely decorated, but it has a warm feeling as the room is often full of happy regulars. Reasonable prices. Will try... More

I appreciated the clean, quiet atmosphere of this restaurant in a wonderful little downtown White Bear Lake. The staff members were kind and friendly. The food was good - not the best curry I've ever had but decent (the eggrolls, however, were super yummy).

The decor is very minimal in this restaurant, but it's the food that will surprise you. This is s family owned restaurant and the young daughter is pleasant. We had egg rolls as an appetizer and they were great, would recommend. I had pad Thai noodles and they were great. We also had the beef and it was so good.... More

I have had Thai food all over the US and so far the best. She uses only fresh ingredients and all sauces are hand prepared, not Sysco slop commonly found other places. Very friendly and family owned. If your are squeamish about spice, no problem, she will make it mild for you. But why would you eat Thai without the... More

Very spicey authentic Thai food. It's take out only now since it's family run and their daughters school grades were suffering when she was busy waitressing. We got two amazing dinners for $23. They aren't kidding about spice level the way so many Midwestern restaurants do. Here a 2 out of 4 is the most I can handle and I... More

A local friend had recommended it and the local community seems to like this place as it was fairly crowded, although there was no wait for a table. The food came out quickly, and was serviceable but not memorable. Several different staff participated in taking the order, bringing things out and following up with drink refills. The person who brought... More

Found this place on Google while in town for a meeting. I love thai food, eat it often and have tried it near and far. Ban Thai ranks up with the best of them. Not much to look at but the food was amazing.

My wife and I visited Ban Thai for a late dinner date. The restaurant is not fancy by any means, but very comfortable. Service was very good. The prices were a little higher than what we've paid for comparable food, but the portions were very large. I had the spicy noodles and beef, and was happy with the heat level!... More
