Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

As COVID is still with us it is much easier to go on-line and order. While always a bit cautious using pickup this time the food we selected was very good. The entrees were the usual faves being meat and chicken samosa which were excellent. The mains were beef and chicken with both fresh and an appropriate portion size. The sides were naan breads which were tasty and warm. All in all Indian Burp is a very good option for a mid-week takeaway. Certainly be back. With a nice 10% discount why not. Pickup experience was great with very polite and helpful person serving me.

The food is so good from this place, I had to write a review, something I’ve never done before. Ordered from here several times & they never disappoint. Every dish we’ve tried is delicious, and they’re not afraid to make it spicy, to the level that you want. Staff are lovely & friendly, and service is efficient. Best Indian food I’ve eaten in Melbourne.

Took me and my mum here for dinner and did not disappoint! We had chicken tikka masala, coconut rice, lamb madras, popadoms and naan (we had the one with fruit and nut inside) AMAZING! Literally one of the best Indians I’ve ever had. Will definitely be coming back with my girl friends for dinner. Staff were also super friendly and helpful which to me is very important as I work in hospitality myself. Highly recommended. Can’t wait to return, hopefully I won’t eat so much that I have room for dessert haha.

completely disappointed with the quantity of the food served at this restaurant. We ordered chilli paneer and what we got was just 4 cubes of paneer served for $14. A big rip off. When we mentioned this to the staff they did not entertain the problem in fact went behind the counter was busy giggling with rest of the staff members, this shows lack of professionalism and zero interest in customer service. The food is not worth the price.
I would urge the management to train the staff and consider customer reviews and issues for further improvement.
Not going back again.

Dear Kavisha,
Thank you for taking the time to write a review. I’m sincerely sorry to hear you were let
down by our service. Normally at our restaurant the price range is $20 to $45 per person to have a satisfying meal. In your case the order was 1 Entree, 1 main and Naans between 2 people which is not enough to share. Upon you raising the issue with the staff, the prompt response was provided to you which was not well received. We recommended to order enough portion on your next visit to have a pleasant experience. Once again We appreciate your visit to Indian Burrp and look forward to serving you again:)

Booked for my husband’s birthday. We love Indian food and this didn’t disappoint. The Samosas could have been better, I would have the vegetarian ones next time.
We had mild to medium butter chicken and the medium heat lamb madras curry. The heat was perfect, the meat of both dishes was melt in your mouth, the flavours were bursting on our tongues.
Best Indian we have had in a very long time.
I would recommend this restaurant to family and friends.

We were pleased to discover this little Indian restaurant which is very close to Southland. The service was really wonderful; it was fast and very friendly. Our waitress took the time to recommend some dishes for us. And we were very pleased with her recommendations; all of our dishes were absolutely tasty and delicious. We will be going back. Highly recommended!

We had my birthday at Indian Burp as we love Indian food and the reviews were great. Unfortunately, although we had a booking, the staff were more attentive to the take away and delivery orders that came in. We waited 1.5 hours from ordering to receiving our food - not a pleasant experience when three of our party were kids! Won’t be coming back.

Ordered before 6pm this evening and at 7.15pm they cancelled the order and advised to try elsewhere. Really poor outcome with no apology. Won’t be looking to use them again based on this experience

Thank you for taking the time Craig to write a review. May we please request you to advise which specific online service you are referring to as we had not experienced any situation like this before. If it was to do with the Ubereats or any third party restaurant delivery services, unfortunately We have no control on how they respond to you. Please deal with the restaurant directly in the future to have a clear communication on the status of your. We look forward to picking up your call next time when you feel Indian :)

This is a restaurant that I'd heard of many times, usually at the Cinemas at Southland - and always had a giggle at the name. So I finally had the chance to go there, and I wasn't disappointed.
Suburban dining can of course be hit and miss. For a fair price I want delicious food and decent service. Well Burrp is a little gem, with exactly the right balance of friendliness and service and some of the best Indian dishes ever.
My partner thought it was the best Butter Chicken she'd ever had and I couldn't disagree.
This is a place where the owner is 'on deck' and everyone is made to feel welcome from go to woe.
It took me 4 years to get there, but don't let yourself do the same. You're missing out!
And for the record, my translation of 'burrp' in English is 'Thank you'.

Nice atmosphere, good food, quite authentic . Better Indian cuisine than many and the restaurant has a more up market feel to it. You can choose your level of spice in the dishes so it caters to all tastes. Large variety of dishes available and it’s BYO.

This has been a favourite of of ours for some time.
Food is more authentic than some.
Staff are friendly and attentive and the manager will always ask about you food.
Certainly one of the best in the outer SE suburbs.

We’ve seen a few mixed reviews about the place and was hopeful. Really didn’t want to go to another if it was bad... however this was indeed a nice restaurant.
Parking can be tricky; I’m not sure if it has parking at the back so I’d suggest get their early.
The decor is pretty interesting and honestly I liked it. We were greeted on entry by the staff with a big smile. Shown to our table; she was very friendly.
The menu was pretty big; but we didn’t see the typical Indian dishes we were accustomed to or at least the names. We were educated by the friendly staff different areas of India have different variations of dishes. She listened to what we like and advised which dish were similar. When the food came out her recommendation were spot on!! I was pretty impressed with her knowledge.
The food was presented nicely; was different; but every bit delicious!! It’s not your typical Indian food or at least not the typical food we were use to.
The size of the potions looked small and it left you feeling that you should order more but that would be a mistake cause when they bought out extra we couldn’t finish. The price was very reasonable as well however getting that extra serving pushed the price just over. This was our mistake!
The place looks like it’s got a good bar as well. However one thing I would have like to see is more Indian drinks like masal chai and desserts...
All in all I thought this was a great little place; different but good different.
Yes definitely will go their again; it’s a great place!
