I have been going here for over 40 years. Current owners have been at least half that time. I love it each time I go - winter or summer. In winter there is an open fire cooking peas and bacon. In summer outside the views are great. The food is locally sourced and always good with hearty portions.

Col de Port is one of the most beautiful sites of the french Pyrenees. The restaurant serves local food, all delicious. Sometimes too much but price quality is superb.

After walking up the nearby Pic d'Estibat 1663m, spotting some colourful butterflies as well as an Egyptian Vulture soaring below us, what better than to tuck into a hearty lunch on the sunshine verandah whilst watching the world go by at the Col de Port. A marvelous spot, stunning views, amazing wildlife and a warm welcome with friendly service, wholesome... More

nous sommes allé a 2 reprises et les 2 fois ont été inoubliables. L'auberge est très typique et la vue est spectaculaire sur le col. la bouffe des plus typique. I was there with my sister, brother in-law and my wife, it was a later september weather with some fog. cold outside and we were a bit chilly. Inside the... More

We only stayed there for two nights, but had an excellent time. The food was really good, in fact while we were having breakfast the owner was hanging a large cooking pot over the open fire, It was that evenings meal and I can't tell you how good it was. That's real slow cooking. Whilst the accommodation is basic it... More

The Auberge La Sapiniere is situated in the Col de Port, high up in the hills leading through the Pyrenees. It was a splendid drive to reach our destination and prior to lunch we enjoyed a gentle walk in the hills. It is the starting point for many mounting hiking trails. Its worth making a day of it. The food... More

The food is limited and can tend to be greasy. Because of its location with spectacular views and far from competition the prices are slightly inflated. Service is very courteous and friendly

We have visited this restaurant on a couple of occasions and each time we have had a delightful lunch. The first time was with friends of the owner but on the next visit we took overseas visitors who were treated well. I suggest that you make a booking as this restaurant is in the mountains.
